Luke Combs had a, “less than ideal” first interaction over a decade ago with Blake Shelton and music executives during a private farm trip because he was super sick. He says, “I remember thinking, like, ‘Well, this is it. My career’s over. I finally got invited to a cool thing, and I’m the weird guy in the room that’s sick.” But Luke was able to have his moment during a campfire circle. When it was his turn to sing, he told, Blake, quote, “I don’t even have a record deal. I’ve never had a #1. “But if I get a record deal, this song I’m going to play is a song I’ve written.” He played “Hurricane”, which became his debut single and hit #1. Also, Luke will be opening up a Las Vegas location of his Category 10 bar this fall.
