It’s no exaggeration that Dolly Parton worked until her final days. In July, she filmed an ad for her coffee line, Cup of Ambition, which launched online yesterday for National Coffee Day. In the clip, Dolly pours herself a cup of coffee and sits down at a vanity where she plays guitar and touches up her makeup. Her reflection in the mirror is animated, and her song “9 to 5” plays in the background. Cup of Ambition comes in three different roasts: light, medium, and dark. The coffee is sold as a 12-ounce bag of grounds and as a pack of 10 K-cups. They all cost $12.99 each. In other Dolly news, her new museum opened yesterday on the third floor of the SongTeller Hotel in Nashville. It’s the largest exhibit of her life and includes her wedding dress and her last official recorded concert.
Lady A frontman Charles Kelley has a rare blood cancer called multiple myeloma. He shared the news in a video on social media alongside his wife. He says he’s hopeful and that he wants to keep working while receiving treatment. “But we just wanted to let y’all know, and I’ll try to let you in, you know, when I feel like it’s appropriate throughout the journey. And it’s just another hurdle, and you know, I’m confident that we’re going to get through it.”
Kenny Chesney takes tour rehearsals so seriously that he rents out an entire stadium for a WEEK. He says, quote, “For the last several years, we’ve opened our tour in Tampa, and we’re gonna do that again next summer. “And we’ll be there for a week before the first show . . . There’s so many moving parts that goes into it . . . So you have to go and set everything up to see how it looks, and if something’s not right, you gotta fix it.” Kenny’s played flag football on the field and watched games on the giant screen while renting the stadium. He didn’t share how much he pays or which stadium he rents, but it’s likely Raymond James in Tampa where he’s played seven times.
