The CMAs announced their 2026 nominees yesterday. Ella Langley leads with nine, followed by Miranda Lambert with seven, and Kacey Musgraves and songwriter Ben West each with five. Taylor Swift will also attend the awards for the first time in 10 years, since her song, “I Knew It, I Knew You” is nominated for Single of the Year. She says, quote, “Looks like I haven’t yee’d my last haw.” The awards air live on Wednesday, November 18th on ABC and Disney+. Lainey Wilson will host.
Darryl Worley recorded a new version of his 2003 song, “Have You Forgotten?”, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11. He wants radio stations across the country to play the song today at 9:11a.m. He says, “The song is a tribute written to honor those who serve. We hoped it would call attention to the intense sacrifices made by the amazing men and women of the U.S. military and our dedicated first responders . . .”When I look at our landscape today and all the things taking place in these great United States of America, I can’t help but wonder, have you forgotten?”
It looks like Florida Georgia Line will reunite at Stagecoach. The festival posted a teaser video of the guys loading their equipment in the back of an old Chevy pickup truck with the caption, “LFG”. In the clip, Brian Kelley asks Tyler Hubbard, “Are we really doing this again?” and he replies, “Looks like it, bro.” Stagecoach 2027 is April 23rd through the 25th in Indio, California. Based on previous years, the full lineup is typically announced this month.
Dolly Parton’s first posthumous release is here. It’s a cover of the 1964 song, “Bound to Ride” by The Stanley Brothers. She recorded it back in 2022 at her home studio, and she’s backed by the First Ladies of Bluegrass. It’s part of the all-star tribute album called “Where the Soul Never Dies: Celebrating 80 Years of The Stanley Brothers” that comes out October 16th. In other news, a lady in Ohio named Jolenna thinks she’s the little girl that inspired Dolly to name her song “Jolene”.
Aaron Rodgers appeared on a podcast yesterday, and WENT OFF on two of his former girlfriends, Shailene Woodley and Danica Patrick. To be fair, both of them have talked smack about him over the years. In 2024, Shailene brought up an unspecified “really awful, traumatic” incident that occurred in 2022, in which she lost her soul and her happiness. She said the period of her life around her relationship with Aaron was, “the darkest, hardest” time of her life. As for Danica . . . she and Aaron dated for about two years, and broke up in early 2020, right as COVID was hitting its stride. Danica said Aaron was, “emotionally abusive.” — that he wore her down to nothing, and he, “leaves a trail of blood.”
