Randy Travis’ wife Mary announced that a new Randy album will come out by the end of the year. It’s stuff that he had sang before the stroke [in 2013]. It’s been mastered, mixed, and ready to go.” This will be the first album with new and never-before-heard tracks from Randy since 2008 & his first full-length record since 2014. In other news, for the 40th anniversary of his debut album, “Storms of Life”, the front room at the Nashville Palace has been renamed after him. Before the fame, he worked there as a cook and dishwasher in the late ’70s and early ’80s. Also, if you’re going to CMA Fest this weekend, he’ll be doing meet and greets today and tomorrow in front of a set inspired by the cover of “Storms of Life”.
Lainey Wilson has teamed up with John Mayer on guitar for her latest song, “Phone, Keys, Wallet”. She wrote it while on tour for her 2024 album, “Whirlwind”. Lainey says, “I feel like a tornado with boots on half the time, and this song is really about finding somebody who’s okay with that chaos and chooses to love you through it anyway.”
The Internet has been divided over Luke Bryan’s new song “Fish Hunt Golf Drink”, with some fans accusing him of using A.I. to write it, which he denies. “That song was designed for one thing. To have fun and to tell the world what I love to do and what I strive to do. When I get days off, I want to hunt fish golf and drink. And I might try to do them all on the same day.”
