Caitlin Clark was just drafted #1 in the WNBA draft on Monday night after a historic college career at Iowa.  She was a bit starstruck when they showed her a video Luke Combs made for her. Right after she got drafted, they showed her backstage standing next to a video monitor and then Luke popped up with an encouraging message. He said, “I just want to say congratulations on being the #1 pick in the WNBA draft.  That’s incredible.  I can speak for everybody all across the United States and the world probably . . . that we’ve enjoyed watching you these past couple years.” He ended it by congratulating her again and saying, quote, “You earned it.  Can’t wait to see you out there.” Caitlin turned with a big smile and said, “Luke Combs!  That’s my favorite artist of all-time . . . He’s a big women’s basketball fan, so I appreciate him.  That’s amazing, I was not expecting that.” In the history of collegiate basketball, Caitlin has scored more points than any man or woman EVER . . . and she still blushed a bit at seeing Luke Combs.  Pretty cool.

Jelly Roll is a touring machine.  He played over 60 shows in 2022, and in 2023 . . . and has another 60 plus scheduled in 2024.  But if you see him in concert this year, what songs is he going to play? Luckily the folks at Setlist.FM kept track of all the songs he has sung on previous tours.  And looking at the past stats could give you a pretty good idea of what tunes you might hear this year.  No guarantee, but knowledge is power. Based on the stats up until March 26th, 2024 . . . Here are the top five songs Jelly has sung on tour:

1.  “Save Me”.  Jelly has sung this smash-hit 60 times since July of 2021.

2.  “Son of a Sinner”.  56 times since September of 2021.

3.  “Smoking Section”.  49 times since May of 2016.

4.  “Bottle and Mary Jane”.  45 times since September of 2021.

5.  “Creature”.  44 times since September of 2021.

You might be asking, where does “Need a Favor” fall on this list, and it’s in a tie for 8th place with 36 appearances.   But he only started singing that song live in December of 2022.

Sam Hunt has been arrested for DUI, and he’s been unfaithful to his wife.  But he’s never had to sleep on the couch . . . because he REFUSES to. Colt Ford is still in the ICU following the heart attack he suffered almost two weeks ago.  But the good news is it sounds like he’s doing better. It happened after a show at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row in Gilbert, Arizona on April 4th.  He did a two-and-a-half hour set and seemed fine.  But he needed medical attention backstage. Colt is good buddies with golf analyst Charlie Rymer, who posted an update the other day.  He said Colt’s “odds of survival were grim” at first.  But he’s “making great progress and doing better by the minute.”  He also thanked everyone for all their prayers and support.  The bad news is Colt won’t be back on the road anytime soon.  His entire slate of tour dates through August just got canceled.  His team says refunds are available. Four shows in Ohio, North Carolina, and Georgia got rescheduled for September and October.  So hopefully he’s back up and running by then.  But none of it really matters right now.  Just get better, Colt!
