Emma Stone would like to be called by her real name, which is Emily.  When she became an actress she had to change it to Emma because there was already an Emily Stone.

Jennifer Aniston is producing a remake of the Dolly Parton classic, “9 to 5”.  There’s no word if she will star in it since it’s still in the early stages.

Last August, Oliver Anthony took the country world by storm when he uploaded “Rich Men North of Richmond” to YouTube.  He then went on to become the first artist to debut as number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart without previously appearing on any other Billboard chart. That video now has 134 million views to date, but it hasn’t changed his mindset about the business side of things.  He said, “People in the music industry give me blank stares when I brush off 8 million dollar offers . . . I don’t want to play stadium shows.  I don’t want to be in the spotlight.” Then he said, “I wrote the music I wrote because I was suffering with mental health and depression.  These songs have connected with millions of people because they’re being sung by someone feeling the words in the very moment they were being sung.” And it seems like he may stay an independent artist forever, because when asked about record labels, he said, “I’d rather not have a career than feed those people.  I hate the way some of those people treated artists . . . They look at them like a big dollar bill, and they don’t give a [s-word] about anything they do.” Oliver is a trailblazer in every sense of the word.  He’s so far rejected fame and fortune, and stayed true to himself.  And you can tell when you listen to his music, this man feels every word that he sings. And he has a really refreshing take on his new found “celebrity” status.  “I’ll just do it myself and stay true to myself . . . and if it doesn’t work out, then I still got to experience what I did . . . Even if I had to go back to my old job, I wouldn’t even be upset.”

Bunnie XO recently let everyone know that Jelly Roll no longer uses the internet because too many people bullied him about his weight.  Well since then, a lot of people came to his defense.  Including Flavor Flav. He said, “How dare y’all try to judge my man about his weight and his character . . . This man’s music has been giving a lot of people hope, that’s stranded in the streets, locked up in jails, people that’s on drugs.” He’s right.  Why do people gotta mess with Jelly?  All he does is good for other people.  Flavor Flav went on to say, “And let me tell you something, on a personal note.  Jelly Roll is one of the absolute nicest men on the planet that y’all would ever want to know.” He closed it out by reminding us that no amount of hate is gonna stop Jelly from being successful.  “For all of y’all that’s trying to judge my boy . . . I think y’all need to take a step back and judge yourselves.”

The University of Tennessee is joining several other schools across the country and is offering a course on Taylor Swift. The course is called Gender / Media (Taylor’s Version), and it launches in the fall.  It will give students a comprehensive understanding of Taylor’s impact on celebrity and career strategies. The professor says, quote, “We’ll talk about Taylor Swift from every possible angle.”

Cody Johnson got to throw out the first pitch at a Texas Rangers game this week. Before the game, he told reporters he actually chose to do it.  They asked if he’d rather throw out the first pitch, or sing the National Anthem. He’d never done a first pitch before, so he went with that . . . and fired a STRIKE.  He did it from the mound too, not closer up on the grass.  He also got to take batting practice with the team . . . and did all of this in his cowboy hat and jeans.  He said it was a fun experience, because he’s a huge fan of ALL Texas teams.  It was also a work trip. He’ll be back in a few months for a show at Globe Life Field on November 9th.  So he was there promoting it.
