Vans might not be the brand it is today if Sean Penn hadn’t worn their checkered slip-ons when he played Jeff Spicoli in the 1982 classic “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”. And now, more than 40 years later, the owner of Vans has finally had a chance to thank him. Steve Van Doren, the son of the company’s co-founder, was in Hawaii about a year ago, when he was tipped off that Sean was in a nearby restaurant. So he went in and introduced himself, and told him, quote, “You made my life so much better (because of what you did) for the brand.” Then he gave the owner of the restaurant his credit card and paid for Sean’s dinner.

Bungee jumping already seemed like a terrible idea, and somehow this Chris Stapleton story made it sound even worse.  Chris was on the”Bobby Bones Show” in January and he told a story about the time he was going to go bungee jumping. And while he was waiting in line, one of the jumpers had their rope snap.  Apparently, the man was fine and he landed in one of those big cushions.  But then Chris said, quote, “that was the moment that I got out of line.” Thank you, Chris Stapleton, for not going on that bungee jump.  The world needs you.

Governor Bill Lee signed it inside the Nashville honky tonk Robert’s Western World, accompanied by Chris Janson and Luke Bryan, who called it, quote, “an amazing precedent.”

You’ve probably heard about the missing University of Missouri student Riley Strain.  His search came to an end Friday when his body was found.  Well, Carly Pearce heard the breaking news and dedicated her performance of “Every Little Thing” to his memory that night while in St. Louis. She says, quote, “We love you Riley Strain.  I just wanna say that I’m thinking of his family and I’m thinking of his friends and anybody in this room that knows him.”
