Jennifer Lopez is producing an animated “Bob the Builder” movie, with actor Anthony Ramos in the lead.  And Bob’s full name is being changed to “Roberto”.

If there’s one thing the entire country can agree on, it’s that we all love Dolly Parton.  And even though Dolly turned 78 a week ago, she is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down. Here are some fun Dolly stories making the rounds this week . . .

1.  Dolly Parton has teamed up with CBS to create a two-hour variety special.  It’s some kind of dog show, featuring “a runway of doggy talent sporting Parton’s most iconic ensembles”.  The “Pet Gala” will also show performances of Dolly’s biggest hits performed by Lainey Wilson, Carly Pearce, and more. Dolly said about the gig, quote, “I have never been more excited about co-hosting a show than I am about being part of this pet gala!  I love animals.”

2.  Dolly recently did a funny interview where she talked about how her husband responded to her infamous Dallas Cowboy cheerleader look back in November.   He said, “Those shorts were a little too short.”  And she giggled and said, “jealous?” She then went on to add, “I think he thought . . . well, maybe you shouldn’t be showing your butt at that age.  But anyway, he got a kick out of it too.”

3.  And probably the most important revelation that we discovered came from a recently unearthed interview from back in 2016.  And that is of course, Dolly Parton’s Taco Bell order.  Turns out Dolly and her husband love going on dates there, like the true romantics they are. Her Taco Bell order is:  A Taco Supreme in a soft-shell, a Mexican pizza, and an order of rice and beans.  Dolly says, “And I get mild sauce.  I don’t like to get it too hot and ruin everything.”

If you haven’t heard, there was a small amount of drama between Zach Bryan and Walker Hayes this week.  Zach tweeted his thoughts on Tyler Childers getting his first-ever charting song on mainstream radio. And instead of just complimenting Tyler, he decided to throw barbs at Walker Hayes for some reason.  He tweeted, “Imagine being radio (whoever the hell that is), hearing ‘Shake the Frost’ and being like ‘no let’s go with the Applebees song.'” He tried to reel that comment back later by tweeting that he was “not insulting anyone” and it was “meant with humor, not malice.”  Except the shots had already been fired.  But Walker took the high road saying, “Big shout to radio for playing dat Applebees song.  Zach and Tyler praying y’alls continued success.” Fans were impressed with Walker for his sense of humor and being a good sport, but he came clean, saying, “I confessed that they only saw my best foot forward.  I had a hundred smart a** responses in the chamber that I didn’t fire off.” But I think Walker got the last laugh anyway because he just posted to his Instagram a funny song in response to the whole fiasco.  The best lyric, “Jesus didn’t die for me so I could fight with Zach Bryan.”

If you’re an aspiring songwriter, Toby Keith offered some advice on TikTok this week:  Don’t get lazy, and write every single day.  Quote, “Just toll away every day.  Most of my catalog was written at a time when I was writing at least four or five days a week.”

Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson found inspiration in an interesting place for his new solo album, “The Mandrake Project”. He says, quote, “There’s bits of Johnny Cash in there lurking, especially on [the new single] ‘Rain on the Graves’. “I’m using different areas of my voice that didn’t exist 30 years ago . . . I don’t know why, maybe the quality of the voice, especially in the lower registers.  I can still do the high, squeaky stuff.”

Kacey Musgraves just released a cover of Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds”.  It’s part of a “Bob Marley: One Love” EP of covers for the upcoming movie that comes out February 14th. It’s not the first time she’s covered it, she’s known for playing it at shows. In related news, did you know Kacey competed on the fifth season of “Nashville Star” in 2007?  She was only 18 years old when she placed seventh.  She jokes that it’s probably best people don’t remember her from that period, because she was still young and figuring herself out musically.
