NICOLE KIDMAN is on the cover of the May issue of “Vanity Fair”, and she talks a lot about her marriage to KEITH URBAN . . . and how they’re raising their two daughters, 10-year-old Sunday Rose and eight-year-old Faith Margaret. She says one of the most important things to her is making sure they all go to church every week. “A lot of my friends tease me, [but] that’s how we’re raising our children. Keith has his own beliefs but he comes, too. I had a very Catholic grandmother, and I was raised praying, so that had a massive impact.” She enjoys being a “tour wife” and actually memorizes his road schedule. “I love that he’s a guitar player and a singer, but his passion is guitar and writing music. That’s what I’m around every day.”
LEE BRICE’s “Rumor” is at #12 and rising on the “Billboard” Hot Country Songs chart. What’s interesting is that the song only happened because he was having serious issues with his voice. “Before my vocal surgery, I was struggling really badly to sing, so I [started] writing more soulful songs. It kind of led to this raspy voice, these soulful songs, and ‘Rumor’ was one of the first ones. “I found myself doing a Motown, groovy, bluesy thing because of the fact that my voice was injured.” He had the surgery in 2016, and his voice is fine now. In fact, it’s too fine. He can’t sing the song quite as raspy as he did when he wrote it. But he can fake it pretty good now.
Advocacy organization Common Sense and Sesame Workshop have teamed to produce a PSA to address kids’ unhealthy use of mobile devices. The spot features the Sesame Street muppets putting their mobile phones away before going to the dinner table. However, Cookie Monster is still on his phone texting when he notices all the characters looking at him. He then says, “Looks like Device for Dinner” and then he eats his device. The spot is part of Common Sense’s Device Free Dinner campaign.
