At Darius Rucker‘s annual “Darius & Friends” benefit show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Monday night (June 2), Morgan Wallen made a surprise guest appearance. The country superstar delighted the crowd by performing two of his songs, “20 Cigarettes” from his chart-topping new album, I’m the Problem, along with the fan favorite, No. 1 hit, “More Than My Hometown,” the lead single from Wallen’s 2020 record, Dangerous: The Double Album. This intimate Ryman performance marked a rare occasion for fans accustomed to seeing Wallen perform in stadiums. Other surprise guests at Rucker’s event included Luke Bryan, who had a night off on his Country Song Came On Tour, and performed his hits “Play it Again” and “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day.” Other performers included Tyler Braden, Kashus Culpepper, Lanie Gardner, Austin Williams, and Rucker himself. “Darius & Friends” is now in its 16th year, and has raised over $4.3 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis prior to this year’s benefit.
