As part of her two-night stand at the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday (June 4), Carrie Underwood unveiled only the sixth microphone stand re-design in the Opry’s 100-year history. The new look features a rhinestone-studded 100th anniversary microphone stand, with the sparkly new design set to be showcased at the Grand Ole Opry booth at CMA Fest in downtown Nashville this weekend. It will remain on display under the stage lights until the end of the year, as part of the Opry’s ongoing 100th anniversary celebration. In addition to honoring the Opry’s centennial, Underwood was also celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of her 9x-platinum debut album, Some Hearts, which contained a series of No. 1 country singles, as well as the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper, “Inside Your Heaven,” with the award-winning record ultimately propelling the American Idol winner into music superstardom. This new microphone stand change marks a significant update to the iconic stage centerpiece, and follows the recent mic stand unveiling by Vince Gill earlier this year. (Taste of Country)
