I-105 WIOV cancels Fallfest Country Music Festival due to Coronavirus (COVID-19)
(LANCASTER, PA) I-105 WIOV radio station announced today that the annual I-105 Fallfest, presented by Rutter’s and Capital BlueCross, planned for October 4, 2020 at Maple Grove Raceway has been cancelled. “The health and safety of our listeners, artists, sponsors and staff have always been our top priority” says WIOV Program Director Rich Creeger. “Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have closely monitored the CDC and Pennsylvania guidelines and hoped for a different outcome. We have come to the difficult decision to cancel the event for 2020.”
The radio station produced music festival has been held annually since 1992 as a listener appreciation event and attracted many of country music’s biggest stars to perform in Lancaster and Berks Counties. The performers for the 2020 concert had not yet been announced. The event has become an annual Central Pennsylvania tradition and is attended by thousands of country music fans from Central PA and beyond.
“We will miss making memories with our I-105 listeners and fans in 2020, but look forward to a great show in 2021 and returning to normal when it is safe to do so,” said Creeger. “We have big plans for next year’s FallFest.” The I-105 Fallfest, presented by Rutter’s and Capital BlueCross, will return to Maple Grove Raceway the weekend of October 10, 2021.
