Jimmy Fortune has a new project of well-known tunes in the works. The former Statler Brothers tenor is slated to drop a new album, Jimmy Fortune: Sings the Classics, on April 21.
The new 14-song offering features recognizable classics such as the Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody,” Glen Campbell’s “Southern Nights” and John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” among others. Longtime friends are also featured on the album, including Ricky Skaggs (“Wake Up Little Susie”), The Isaacs (“Take It to the Limit”) and Voices of Lee (“Bridge Over Troubled Waters”).
“This project is very special and dear to my heart,” said Jimmy in a release. “A lot of hard work and thought went into picking each song—songs that shaped my life. I love them all and I think anyone who hears it will feel the same way.”
Jimmy Fortune: Sings the Classics is available for pre-order now.
