Chris Janson Steps Up To Help West Virginia Flood Victims

Chris Janson may not have been personally affected by the West Virginia floods last month, but that’s not stopping him from helping out his neighbors in need.

While performing at Peck Fest in Point Pleasant, W. Va., the “Buy Me A Boat” singer announced—from the stage—that he would be donating the money raised from merchandise sales that evening to help those affected by the devastating floods that hit the area.

In June massive floods damaged parts of West Virginia killing at least 23 people and leaving thousands without power. The rain fell for six to eight hours, according to NBC News, and the national guard was called in for assistance as bridges washed away and evacuations took place.

“It’s the right thing to do,” Chris said in a statement. “I’ve played many nights here in West Virginia and the people have always treated me and my family so nice. It’s like a second home to me.”

We always say, country artists have big hearts.
