Taylor Swift’s I Bet You Think About Me was removed from a TikTok video posted by the White House after the track appeared alongside footage of President Donald Trump. In the Wednesday post, the White House showed Trump interacting with supporters and used a caption referencing the song: We know you think about us.
By late Wednesday, TikTok displayed a notice stating that the sound was unavailable, leaving the video without Swift’s music. Swift has not publicly commented on the removal, and no specific explanation for the latest change has been announced.
The incident follows another recent Trump-affiliated TikTok that featured Swift’s song August. That track was also removed, with a platform notice indicating that the copyright owner had not made the sound available in the viewer’s country.
Several older videos connected to Trump’s social media operation have also had Swift songs muted. The removals add to an ongoing discussion about political accounts using popular music in social media posts and the control artists and rights holders have over those uses.
