Dolly Parton announced last year that she was partnering with Tennessean Travel Stop to bring her southern hospitality to the highway. Well the official grand opening is June 24th. It’s in Cornersville, Tennessee, off I-65, which is one hour south of Nashville. More locations are expected to pop up across the country. Some of its amenities include DLY BBQ, Cup of Ambition Coffee, a restaurant, a cafe, and Doggy Parton Dog Park. There’s merchandise and a stage and lounge for live music. The Chicks are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album, “Taking the Long Way”, with a 16-date tour this fall. They said they’re, quote, “Still not ready to make nice.” The Chicks will perform the album in its entirety, as well as some of their other hits. Presale tickets go on sale Wednesday.
Zac Brown and jewelry designer Kendra Scott are officially married. They had a small private ceremony on Monday at a resort in Santorini, Greece. As of last night, there haven’t been any photos posted from the ceremony. Between Zac and Kendra, they have eight kids. Zac shares four daughters and a son with his ex-wife. Kendra has two sons with her first husband and one son with her second husband.
John Prine would have turned 80 this fall, but he died from Covid back in 2020. His family is planning celebrate his life and honor his memory with a tribute concert in Chicago in October. It’ll be hosted by John C. Reilly and will include performances from Margo Price, Amos Lee, and Steve Earle. His longtime band will provide all the backing support.
Paul McCartney recently learned that Prince would perform a cover of “The Long and Winding Road” at his concerts. He wants to work with Prince’s estate to release a posthumous duet.
Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show finale put CBS atop the late-night ratings charts. His replacement’s premiere plummeted them to the bottom. When Colbert left CBS on Thursday, so too did all of his viewers. The first episode of Byron Allen’s Comics Unleashed to premiere at Colbert’s previous 11:35 pm time slot drew just 995,000 viewers. By comparison, Colbert’s series finale attracted more than 6.7 million viewers meaning CBS saw an 85 percent downturn in viewership just one day after Colbert’s show went dark for good.
