Lainey Wilson was a “Hannah Montana” impersonator for five years when she was in 8th grade to 12th grade. She reminisced on those days while at the “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” premiere this week. “I can’t believe it’s been 20 years. Let’s not do the math . . . I did get a chance to tell Miley, I was like, ‘We were both Hannah Montana. My Hannah looked a lot different than yours. No Malibu mansions, but Hannah was a big part of my life.'” Lainey became an impersonator when her 8th grade teacher needed someone to dress up as Hannah for her daughter’s birthday. Lainey says she took it a step “too far” and got a karaoke track, the wig, and a portable sound system. “I put on my first Hannah Montana show, and it spread like wildfire. I would do three or four birthday parties a weekend.”
CMA Fest announced about 150 artists who will be performing at the FREE daytime stages. The lineup includes Ernest, Melissa Etheridge, Stephen Wilson Jr., Tucker Wetmore, and The War and Treaty. Alan Jackson might be retiring from performing live, but he just created a new two-day festival called the “5 O’Clock Somewhere Fest”, inspired by his hit with Jimmy Buffett. It’s June 12th and 13th at the Palm Beaches in Florida. Ella Langley and Old Dominion are headlining. The other performers include Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band, Clint Black, Rodney Atkins, Shenandoah, and host Dusty Slay.
Savannah Guthrie was interviewed about the search for her mother for today and tomorrow’s episodes of the “Today” show. She says, quote, “Someone needs to do the right thing. We are in agony.”
The Malibu mansion used in exterior shots on “Hannah Montana” will be turned into an immersive experience for Airbnb. Fans will get to step into Hannah’s closet and enjoy having the beach in their backyard.
