Luke Combs says country music is in the zeitgeist now, and is no longer a niche genre. its popularity is pretty undeniable. So why not see a country artist do the Super Bowl Halftime Show? Shania Twain was the last one to do it, and that was in 2003. Not to mention, she shared the stage with No Doubt and Sting. Luke says, “I think the people would love it. And that’s no pitch for me, I think it’s just a pitch for country music in general. Whether it’s Garth [Brooks] or Morgan Wallen or whoever it is. Somebody deserves to be up there doing the thing . . . How many of the Top 100 streaming songs in all of music are country? A very high percentage, I think, now. Way more so than in history . . . I think it’s time.” In other Luke news, he follows Dolly Parton’s example when it comes to politics., “Basically, just being a good person and doing what you believe is right, and not getting involved in the minutiae of labeling it. Why can’t you just be a good person and just be loved?” Luke also has a new album out Friday called “The Way I Am”.
Remember when Kelsea Ballerini’s actor ex-boyfriend Chase Stokes took a shot at Morgan Evans’ masculinity? Well, Morgan finally responded, and he isn’t fazed. “One of my mates said the other day, ‘An insult is more of a mirror than a weapon,’ and so when someone’s insulting someone else about something, it’s usually something they’re insecure about . . .”I will say, you get negative comments now and then, and sometimes they hurt. This one did not hurt at all.” On “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, Zendaya made jokes about the rumor that she and Tom Holland are married. She even showed an obviously fake video of their wedding. But technically, she didn’t deny it.
