Carrie Underwood has a solution for kids who keep saying “6-7” nonstop. Somehow it became Dictionary.com’s 2025 Word of the Year, even though it’s not even a word. In a new promo for “American Idol”, a contestant mentioned “6-7” . . . and Carrie didn’t miss a beat. She said, “Here’s how we stop that. I have the cure.” Then she broke into song: “Every time the kids say ‘6-7,’ we have to immediately say ‘5-3-0-9.'” “And if we all band together and do that, it will stop. It’s gonna take all of us.” Make it so annoying the kids will stop saying it. “American Idol”, returns Monday, January 26th on ABC. Carrie is heading into her second season as an “Idol” judge. She’s celebrating twenty years since she won season four back in 2005.
The CMA Awards went down on Wednesday. And overall, people seemed to love the show. But even though it was “Country Music’s Biggest Night” . . . not all the biggest stars in the country world were there. Here are the country stars who skipped the CMAs:
- Jelly Roll and his wife Bunnie Xo. They didn’t give an official reason for skipping, but both of them have been saying how tired they are lately.
- Jason Aldean and Brittany Aldean. A fan asked why they weren’t at the CMAs, and Brittany responded, “Not much love from that one.”
- Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. Some people think it’s because they are going through a rough patch. But a source claims that they will be watching the CMAs on their TV this year.”
- Post Malone – did take home Musical Event of the Year for his song “Pour Me a Drink” with Blake Shelton. But I guess they’d both rather have that drink at home.
- And the biggest name that skipped is Morgan Wallen. Fans say he’s boycotting the event because of being screwed over in the past. But that’s only hearsay. Maybe he just doesn’t like award shows. Besides, Lainey Wilson won everything anyway.
Jelly Roll finally showed fans something no one has seen in a decade . . . his face without a beard. His wife, Bunnie Xo, teased the reveal earlier in the week. But she said that Jelly would show his face when he was ready. And he looks great. Jelly said he kept the beard for years because of his weight . . . but now that he’s dropped nearly 200 pounds, he felt ready to lose the scruff too. He joked that without the beard he looks like a “Ninja Turtle.” And apparently, he’s lost all his weight naturally. He said he didn’t want to take Ozempic because he was “petrified” of the side effects.
Luke Combs was being asked a few questions before the CMAs and he was talking about his new album, and said there’s only one collaboration on the whole record. But not because he didn’t want more, but because some artists turned him down. “There’s one collab on this record . . . I reached out to a couple people, and they were like, ‘Don’t wanna do a collab with you.'” But Luke said he gets it, because he’s had to say no millions of times himself. Whoever it is might end up kicking themselves later.
