Now that country music is “cool” again, and folks like Post Malone and Beyoncé are making successful country albums . . . does that mean it’s time for Taylor Swift to embrace her country roots once again? Taylor and Travis Kelce, were just in Nashville partying at Jason Aldean’s bar, too. Does that mean she’s returning to country? Here are the main reasons people say she should:
1. She’s coming up on the 20th anniversary of her self-titled debut album. “Taylor Swift” came out on October 24th, 2006.
2. Taylor is in her nostalgic era. She finally got her master recordings back,
3. America is in its country era. Country music is as popular as ever. Why wouldn’t TayTay want a piece?
4. Ed Sheeran might do it. Ed keeps popping up all around Nashville singing country . . . so if more pop stars join in, will Taylor join the fun, too?
5. A country Grammy would be Taylor’s for the taking. Maybe Beyoncé can even hand her the award?
Luke Combs posted a “Get Ready with Me” video spoof on his Instagram and it’s worth watching. Luke wears the same black Columbia shirt at every show he does, so the premise itself is pretty funny. In the video, he’s holding up two identical black Columbia PFG shirts and he says, “Get ready with me for a show, guys. Lot of big decisions to be made here. This PFG . . . or this PFG.” And then it cuts to him walking out of a back room wearing one of the black Columbia PFG shirts. And he says, “I’m going with this one.” His wife Nicole commented, “So over social media” . . . and Columbia PFG’s account said, “I see no possible bad decisions.”
It’s a tale as old as time: A musician and his groupies. Or if you are in a relationship, like Zach Top . . . it’s a musician and his girlfriend who HATES all of the groupies. Zach’s too cool to be in the dog house, though. His girlfriend, Amelia, posted a video backstage of his concert with the caption, “POV: me scanning the crowd for all these wild texts chicks are holding up.” And she said, “Y’all need some self-respect, for real.”
Has Ella Langley finally shut down all the rumors about Riley Green? She has a new song out called, “Never Met Anyone Like You”. And everyone was quick to guess that it was about Riley, who is her now-famous duet partner. Here’s what Ella wrote on TikTok, “When it’s a love song . . . ‘We know who that’s about’ . . . When it’s a breakup song . . . ‘We know who this is about’ . . .”She ended it with, “Maybe I have a life outside of social media drama” . . . And then put in a shrug emoji. Sounds like Ella has a full life outside of the public eye. Far away from Riley. Someone in the comments agreed and said, “Y’all are giving Riley WAY too much credit.”
