Jelly Roll won’t let his soaring popularity get in the way of his main objective: Helping people who are struggling, just like he was. Last year, Jelly donated $250,000 to support youth who were locked-up at Nashville’s Davidson County Detention Center . . . a facility where HE spent time as a teen. And there’s more where that came from. In an interview with the “New York Times”, he says, “That’s not even scratching the surface of my plan. I’m going to build halfway houses and transitional centers. That’s my real heart.” He says it’s “devastating” for him to think of all the years he lost while being juvie. He adds, “I just missed so much of life. So, I want to be remembered as a guy that did something for the kids in this town. Jelly Roll may be a new artist, but he’s 38 . . . and he’s seen a lot. In addition to being incarcerated, he’s also dealt with poverty and addiction.
Dolly Parton’s got a bunch of big names on her upcoming rock album. But now it’s official . . . Mick Jagger will NOT be one of them. She told “ET Online” that she tried and tried, but “never got him.” One of the songs on the album is a cover “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”, so that’s the song she had in mind. She ended up getting Brandi Carlisle and Pink to sing on it instead. It’s not clear why Mick couldn’t do it, but she says no hard feelings. Quote, “I love Mick Jagger no matter what. I’ll still be runnin’ after him all through the years, because I’ve always had a crush on him.”
Earlier this month Maddie Font of Maddie & Tae announced she’s pregnant with her first child. And now she shared a black and white video of the moment she told her husband. She asks him to smell some bread, but that’s a misdirection. As he walks over, she swaps the bread for a heart-shaped paper, and when he sees the good news, they embrace in a big hug. The clip also features Maddie & Tae’s “Strangers” playing in the background.

Rihanna announced at CinemaCon that she’ll voice Smurfette and perform original music for an untitled animated “Smurfs” movie. It was also revealed that Chris Rock will have a cameo in “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie”.
