Ashley McBryde’s rep as a skilled songwriter was put to the test during her appearance yesterday on “The Jennifer Hudson Show”. Jennifer asked an audience member to tell a true story, and then challenged Ashley to turn it into a song. Luckily, the audience member had a good one. She said a co-worker once set her up on a blind date, and when she got to the restaurant, it was her cousin. Ashley jumped on that, saying, quote, “It’s already a country song.” Then she took the premise and crafted a song. The audience loved it, and even Jennifer said it was “amazing”.
Don’t you love it when people are honest with themselves like this? Luke Combs’ wife Nicole was talking to fans on Instagram yesterday, and someone asked when she’s going to team up with him on a song. Meaning sing with him. Her response was she’s NOT going to . . . because she SUCKS at singing. Quote, “Literally never. I can’t sing.” That doesn’t mean she doesn’t sing at all though. She said she does sing around Luke all the time . . . and called it “borderline torture.”
Earlier this week, Tim McGraw used a playlist to tease a surprise that would be revealed on March 10th. Fans noticed that the playlist had a secret message that said “Standing Room Only” . . . and Tim couldn’t keep the secret any longer. Yesterday, he revealed that it’s a new song, and he asked fans to pre-save it.
Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, and Lil Nas X are headlining the 2023 NCAA March Madness Music Festival. There will also be performances from Mickey Guyton and Maggie Rogers. The free ticketed three-day event takes place March 31st to April 2nd in Houston.
