Carrie Underwood said performing with Axl Rose at Stagecoach earlier this year was the best night of her life. They did two Guns N’ Roses songs . . . “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Paradise City”. The hard part was getting him to do it. In a new interview with “Rolling Stone” she talked about the hoops she had to jump through to make it happen. “It was many years in the making. I had asked before if he would ever come sing, or if I could come to him somewhere.” There were a couple of “almost-maybes” but he wouldn’t commit. So she took it to another level. “I sent him an email and explained ‘the why’ and what he meant to me. The way I learned how to sing was I would pick really hard vocalists to try to emulate, and his voice always mesmerized me. “I was like, ‘How is he doing the things that he’s doing?’ So I told him all that . . . and he came. We had rehearsals and everything went very smoothly.”
Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose have only been “official” for a couple weeks . . . and they may already be ENGAGED. They shared a few photos on social media, where it sure looks like Firerose is intentionally showing off an engagement ring. The caption simply says, “Happy Autumn.”
Jackson Dean says the best career advice he ever got came from Clay Walker. It was the same “talk” that Clay got from George Strait. Here’s the advice . . . “No matter what, you have to put THIS first, cause if you don’t your family doesn’t eat. Whatever you have to do to keep yourself runnin’, do it. Whoever has to go, whoever has to step in, make it happen. “Clay Walker was that guy who gave me ‘the talk’.”
Kane Brown is a huge rock fan and wants to do a collaboration. Quote, “When I say rock, I mean Slipknot, I mean, I’m a Green Day fan too, but I’m a workout fiend so, like, heavy . . . Slipknot, Korn, crazy stuff.” But don’t worry, he said he could never leave country because metal just isn’t his brand.
CMT’s “Hot 20 Countdown” had country stars ask questions of each other. Cody Johnson asked Luke Combs how fatherhood is going, and he said, quote, “Being a dad’s awesome. It’s super fun. It can be stressful at times, but a lot more good than bad, for sure. It’s been really fun.”
