Let’s start with the best one, which was their 10th anniversary. It was at Tennessee’s very fancy Blackberry Farm, and Luke arranged the details ahead of time. He had them prepare a dinner featuring all of Caroline’s favorite foods, plus small samples of her favorite snacks. And to top it off, he had them whip up a special homemade ice cream cake. And now the Worst Date . . . and Luke totally dropped the ball on this one. It was Valentine’s Day one year, and he didn’t get a dinner reservation ahead of time, so there they were, driving around and around trying to find a place to eat. They ended up at a “not-so-fancy Italian restaurant” where they sat in the kitchen “eating with teenagers.” It was so bad that to this day . . . they will NOT go out to dinner on Valentine’s Day.
JASON ALDEAN announced the dates of his 34-city Rock ‘n’ Roll Tour. It kicks off July 15th in Scranton, Pennsylvania . . and wraps October 29th in Wichita, Kansas. Gabby Barrett, John Morgan, and Dee Jay Silver will open the shows. Jason says, “I’m ready to get back out and feel the nights come alive. We’re already thinking about the set list. There will be songs off the new record, like ‘Rock and Roll Cowboy’, which felt like a great tour name because it’s all about knowing you belong on the road.” The new record is the “Georgia” half of his 10th album, “Macon, Georgia” . . . and it’s out April 22nd.
Mickey Guyton had more than one pinch-me moment at the Super Bowl on Sunday night! After opening the game by belting out a wonderful rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” the singer, who last year became the first Black woman to be nominated for a country solo performance at the Grammys, had a brush with royalty. Guyton, 38, met Prince Harry, 37, in what appeared to be a VIP section of the stadium. The Duke of Sussex attended the game in a surprise appearance alongside his cousin, Princess Eugenie.
Zac Brown shared a musical treat with his fans on Valentine’s Day. Grabbing his acoustic guitar, Zac performed a version of Jason Isbell‘s “Cover Me Up” with the message “Jason Isbell wrote this one solo. What a song. Happy Valentine’s Day.”
MIRANDA LAMBERT donated $20,000 to shelter pets in honor of Valentine’s Day. 20 different shelters received $1,000 each. She says, quote, “Shelter pets, especially the ones that are hardest to get adopted, and the people who care for them, have always had my heart. Valentine’s Day gives me one more chance to show just how special they all are to me.”
