Despite all of the drama with “Jeopardy!”, it looks like LEVAR BURTON will be a game show host after all. He was announced yesterday as the host of a new “Trivial Pursuit” show. He’ll also be an executive producer. Now it hasn’t been picked up by a network yet. “Trivial Pursuit” has been a show before back in 1993 and 2008.
JEFF BEZOS attended a fundraising gala for the organization Baby2Baby on Saturday night, but the audience didn’t think he was being charitable enough. Sources say there was an audible groan when he donated “only” $500,000.
A “Harry Potter” reunion special will air on HBO Max on January 1st. DANIEL RADCLIFFE, EMMA WATSON, and RUPERT GRINT will be joined by tons of stars from the franchise. But it looks like J.K. ROWLING will only appear in archival footage.
Jim almost cheated on Pam on “The Office”. That was the plan at one point, but JOHN KRASINSKI absolutely refused to do it because he said it’d basically be a betrayal to the fanbase.
The vinyl of TAYLOR SWIFT’s re-recorded “Red” album was pressed at 45 rpm instead of 33. A lot of people who bought the album didn’t realize it, and either thought there was a man singing, or they got a bad copy.
Looks like we’re NOT going to see ZAC BROWN and JASON ALDEAN do an MMA-style slap fight. Zac put the challenge out last month, but Jason isn’t interested. Jason was asked about it in a radio interview, and it sounds like he had no idea the challenge had even been made. “How old are we? I’m confused.” When the details were explained, he responded, quote, “Zac and I are friends, but I mean, I’m not going to let him or anybody else just stand there and slap the crap out of me. So, nah. I feel like I’m in high school right now. What are we talking about?”
MICKEY GUYTON will be performing “All American”, and WALKER HAYES will do “Fancy Like” at the “American Music Awards”. As previously announced, Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean will be doing their duet, “If I Didn’t Love You”. The show airs Sunday.
KACEY MUSGRAVES recorded a cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You” for a new Chipotle commercial. The song plays over a stop-animation film called “A Future Begins”, which supports family farms. This commercial is the sequel to a 2011 short film called “Back to the Start” that featured Willie Nelson.
“Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough has been diagnosed with COVID-19. He said, “Even though I’ve been fully vaccinated, I’ve just been diagnosed with a breakthrough case of COVID,” Hough said. “I just found out and I feel OK. I feel strong, but I’m currently taking advice from medical professionals, doing everything I can to get better as fast as I can.”
KELSEA BALLERINI’s new book of poetry, “Feel Your Way Through”, came out yesterday. If you want to know more about her, this is the book. She opens up about family, relationships, body image, self-love, and sexuality. One poem, “Kangaroo”, reveals how she’s struggled with an eating disorder. Like many girls she had “body image issues” when she was a teen and they were intensified when boys at school started calling her “kangaroo” because of her “belly and little legs.” She was already in a bad place because she was dealing with her parents’ divorce. She began taking diet pills, was bulimic, worked out excessively, and even started passing out. She was 18 when she finally got help. She says, “I’m in a healthier spot now, and I’m much more gentle with how I talk to myself and my body. I’ve re-calibrated what it means to look in the mirror and be like, ‘I’m healthy. Those are things that matter, rather than: ‘I look skinny in a dress.'” She hopes the book will help others.
