The Summer Olympics got started in Tokyo this weekend, and America’s medal count is already in double digits. We won 10 medals, including four gold. That’s good enough for second place so far. We don’t want to spoil any events happening early today since most of us are watching in primetime. But here’s the medal count through Sunday . . .
1. China: 11 . . . 6 gold, 1 silver, 4 bronze.
2. USA: 10 . . . 4 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze.
3. Russia: 7 . . . 1 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze. Technically, Russia is banned for state-sponsored doping. So Russian athletes have to compete under the name “R.O.C.”, or Russian Olympic Committee.
4. Japan: 6 . . . 5 gold and 1 silver.
5. South Korea: 5 . . . 2 gold and 3 bronze.
The CLEVELAND INDIANS have changed their 106-year-old name to the CLEVELAND GUARDIANS. The announcement was made last Friday from the team’s social media account with a video narrated by Cleveland fan TOM HANKS and background music from THE BLACK KEYS. This comes after a decade of protests about the Indians name and logo being offensive to Native Americans. The Guardians name comes from Cleveland’s bridge statues called the “Guardians of Traffic”.

“Real Housewife” KYLE RICHARDS was hospitalized on Saturday after being attacked by . . . BEES. Kyle posted surveillance video from outside her Beverly Hills home showing her fleeing after she accidentally “walked into a hive of bees.” She says they got in her hair and were all over her face, and she was stung multiple times. She actually had to jump in her pool to get them off her . . . which you can see in the video. The kicker is, Kyle is ALLERGIC to bee stings, and she couldn’t get her EpiPen to work . . . and her landline wouldn’t call 911.Someone eventually DID call 911, and she’s okay now. She posted some pictures of herself in the hospital on her Instagram Story.
Kate Beckinsale has finally reunited with her daughter, Lily Sheen, after two long years apart due to the coronavirus pandemic. Beckinsale, 47, was photographed with Sheen, 22, at JFK Airport on Friday, the same day the actress spoke publicly about the pair’s difficult separation.
