Dolly Parton has lent her voice to a new duet with Rory Feek, joining him on “One Angel,” a tribute to Feek’s late wife and musical partner, Joey Feek. Rory originally released the song solo in March 2021, but a new version shared this week features additional vocals from Parton, who provided harmonies and sang a verse. The emotional song was written by Rory and Joey’s good friend Sandy Emory Lawrence, who penned the lyrics about the chemotherapy and radiation Joey underwent before she died in March 2016.
BRITNEY SPEARS will testify in a hearing about the state of her conservatorship, and sources say she’ll tell the court she wants her father out of it completely.
Britney and JAMIE SPEARS are supposedly “AT WAR,” and barely communicate at all anymore. Some of this is lingering resentment because Jamie wasn’t there for her when she was growing up. Britney asked the court to remove Jamie as her conservator last year. Instead, they made him share his duties with a private financial institution called Bessemer Trust. It’s not clear if Britney will try to dissolve the conservatorship altogether, or just boot her dad from it.
TRISHA YEARWOOD was on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” talking about her recent battle with COVID-19. You may remember she got it in February, but GARTH BROOKS didn’t. She was Covid Negative early last month. But the after-effects are hanging around. She still doesn’t have her taste or smell, and that moment of realization came when she chewed out Garth for making her coffee too weak. She told Kelly, quote, “It’s so much about taste and smell and if you can’t smell you don’t really crave. So now it’s all about texture. I can tell if something’s spicy, but that’s it. I love to cook, so now if I cook I ask Garth if it needs more salt or pepper.” And . . . she gave Garth more props for staying by her side the whole time. Quote, “I was like, ‘You have to quarantine in another room, and he was like, ‘No, we’re in this together.’ I was like, ‘I cannot give Garth Brooks COVID.’ “And he never did get it. He had the vaccine and he didn’t even have a sore arm. He was really wonderful. He was really great.”
