MARCH 13, 2020

Last we heard, movie theaters weren’t shutting down yet. But it might not be long, because the STUDIOS have started delaying their big premieres . . .Universal announced that it’s pushing back the new “Fast & Furious” sequel “F9” until next YEAR.  It was supposed to open in May.  Now it’s set for April of 2021. Disney just took three movies off its docket.  The live-action “Mulan” remake was supposed to open March 27th.  Now they’re looking at dates later in the year. Disney is also shelving its new Marvel movie “The New Mutants” for now . . . and the horror flick, “Antlers”.  And the release of “A Quiet Place Part 2” has been delayed indefinitely.  It was supposed to open worldwide next week. JOHN KRASINSKI Tweeted out the announcement, saying it’s the type of movie you really need to see with other people.  So he’s going to, “wait to release the film until we CAN all see it together.”

RUDY GOBERT of the Utah Jazz confirmed speculation that he’s been diagnosed with COVID-19 . . . and first of all, he says he’s doing fine. But he also addressed that dangerous “joke,” where he mocked the coronavirus hysteria by playfully touching all the reporters’ microphones and recorders. And his teammates are privately saying that he showed a cavalier attitude toward the virus in the locker room. Rudy said, “The most important thing is I’d like to publicly apologize to the people that I may have endangered.  At the time, I had no idea I was even infected.” He also added that he was “embarrassed.” A second member of the Jazz has tested positive . . . Donovan Mitchell.  Everyone on the team was tested, and supposedly he was the only other one to have COVID-19.

Peter Weber and Madison Prewett will not be moving forward with their relationship two days after reuniting on The Bachelor: After the Final Rose. The couple announced their decision to go their separate ways on their respective Instagram accounts on Thursday. Peter praised all the women on the show including Madi, “Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further. Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us. The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure.” Peter had proposed to Hannah Ann Sluss after Madi, 23, decided to walk away from the show. However, the pilot broke off his short-lived engagement one month later to pursue a relationship with Prewett after realizing he still had feelings for her.  In his Instagram post on Thursday, Weber also had a message to 23 year old, “Hannah Ann, you set an example for women everywhere a couple nights ago. You are such a strong, confident woman and you deserve all the love in the world. I accept full responsibility for my mistakes in our relationship and wish you only the best”.

“CMT Crossroads” released another preview of the KELSEA BALLERINI – HALSEY episode, which debuts March 25th. It starts with Halsey giving props by saying Kelsea’s “Homecoming Queen” is a song she wished she had written.  That’s a pretty good way to kick-off a song.

KENNY CHESNEY announced that he’s postponing several dates at the start of his Chillaxification Tour due to the coronavirus. In a statement he said, “In times of uncertainty, I won’t take chances with those I love.”  Shows are being rescheduled for next year, but refunds are also available.

BLAKE SHELTON postponed last night’s show, and the other four dates of his Friends and Heroes Tour because of COVID-19. Previously purchased tickets will be honored at the “to-be-announced rescheduled dates” next year.  Or, you can get refunds at the point of purchase.

CHRIS STAPLETON decided to reschedule four March shows.

JASON ALDEAN posted a video on Facebook Live yesterday saying that health officials forced him to cancel last night’s, tonight’s, and tomorrow night’s shows. But he added “it might be a done deal” that they’ve already been rescheduled for August.

DAN + SHAY made a “collective decision” with their team and health officials to postpone the spring leg of “The Arena Tour.” If you’ve already purchased a ticket it WILL be honored at the rescheduled date.   In case you didn’t hear, Dan + Shay said they won’t be performing at the Stagecoach Festival in the fall.  That’s because the rescheduled Stagecoach date conflicts with their tour.

Tiger Woods was elected to the 2021 induction class to the World Golf Hall of Fame. He shares the PGA Tour record with 82 career victories, and his 15 majors are only second to Jack Nicklaus.  Woods said in a statement, “I am both honored and humbled to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame… This achievement is the ultimate recognition to never give up and keep chasing.”

KANE BROWN became a father for the first time last year, so he did what a lot of men do in that situation, he got himself a “dad car.” But his dad car is a Tesla. He didn’t say which model Tesla he bought, only that it takes six hours to charge.  And in case you’re wondering, he still has that tricked-out truck, but he doesn’t drive it anymore. “Homesick” is Kane’s 5th consecutive song to reach Number One on the “Billboard” Country Airplay chart and he was asked what makes him homesick these days. He said, “Well, now I get to bring my wife and daughter on the road with me so it’s amazing, but probably friends who aren’t out with me.  Just hanging out with them and doing stuff we’d do before I started touring.”

Disneyland was exempted from California’s ban on large gatherings yesterday – but then they announced they’re closing down anyway. The park will remain open today, but it’ll shut down tomorrow. It won’t reopen until at least next month.  Disney World is closing its doors too. It’s just the 4th time Disneyland has closed since it opened in 1955.  The other three times were:  After the September 11th attacks -the Northridge quake in 1994 – and when President Kennedy was shot in 1963. There have been no reported cases of COVID-19 at Disneyland Resort but that they think it’s in the “best interest of [their] guests and employees” to shut down for now. Universal Studios Hollywood will also be closed starting tomorrow.  They’re hoping to reopen on March 28th. Some other major tourist attractions around the country have also been closed to the public for now.  Including the U.S. Capitol, which is closed to tourists until at least April. New York City postponed its St. Patrick’s Day parade on Wednesday for the first time in its 258-YEAR history.  And China even shut down access to MOUNT EVEREST yesterday because of the virus.

The Vin Diesel action movie “Bloodshot” is out today. It’s up against “The Hunt” and “I Still Believe”.
