Netflix gave rise to the “binge-watching” era of TV. But they HATED the term “binge-watch” because of the negative association with things like binge-drinking and binge-eating. They preferred the term “marathon viewing,” because it almost sounded like you were doing something HEALTHY. But they couldn’t get people to use it. So they’ve learned to accept “binge-watching” as the term we use.
Last Friday, Pittsburgh Steelers receiver JUJU SMITH-SCHUSTER met a fan who had the team’s logo tattooed on the side of his HEAD. And he asked JuJu to sign it. He did, then he joked about it with reporters and said he’d get the guy “any tickets to any game” if he turned the SIGNATURE into a tattoo. The guy heard about it . . . and took it seriously. Before the weekend was over, he DID IT. The side of his head now has the Steelers logo AND a tattoo of the signature. JuJu got the guy SEASON tickets.
ALEX RODRIGUEZ surprised Jennifer Lopez with a $140,000 Porsche, and she said, “What is that? I’ve never had a car like this. I’ve never driven a car, period!”
LIL NAS X’s “Old Town Road” is officially the longest-running Billboard #1 in Hot 100 history. It has topped the chart for 17 weeks. He has shared the origin of “Old Town Road”, which he says came about because his sister was kicking him out of her place.
KANE BROWN’s wife Katelyn shared another selfie of her baby bump. She captioned it, “So blessed.” They’re having a daughter, and from the looks of Katelyn’s belly, the big day isn’t that far away.
LUKE COMBS posted another clip of himself performing an unreleased song. It’s just him in a room with his guitar, and his amazing voice. It’s called “Every Little Bit Helps”.
I think DIERKS BENTLEY loves reminding people that he’s a pilot. He posted a couple of videos of that reminder over the weekend. In one, he’s in the cockpit firing up the engine to go to Pittsburgh. In another, he’s 6,000 feet in the air on the way to Philadelphia.
Tom and Dick Smothers, who were a mainstay on CBS in the late 60s, came out of retirement to commemorate the day 50 years ago they were canceled over their political views. Tom Smothers said, “At least we’re both alive and not having someone speak for us.” The brothers won a breach of contract lawsuit that CBS had to pay.
