Actor James Ransone took his own life Friday. He was 46 years old. He was best known for playing Ziggy Sobotka in the TV series, “The Wire,” and for his role as Eddie Kaspbrak in the horror movie, “It: Chapter Two.” His final TV appearance in a Season 2 episode of “Poker Face” that aired in June.
Country singer Kata Hay — an Oklahoma native who made it to the Top 20 on The Voice back in 2016 —has been arrested on a vehicular homicide warrant. The incident that led to her arrest took place in Davidson County, Tenn., but Hay fled to her home state, where she was brought in on a fugitive from justice charge. Hay, whose real name is Kata Huddleston, was arrested on Wednesday and was taken to the Osage County Jail. She’ll go before a judge on today before being extradited back to Tennessee.
According to People, Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, who were once Florida Georgia Line, are working to rebuild their friendship. On Wednesday, Dec. Hubbard, 38, reflected on the state of his friendship with Kelley, 40. “I hadn’t spoken to BK a lot in the last couple of years, but we’re going on a hike next week, so the way I see it is, I have a desire for that friendship,” Hubbard said of Kelley, with whom he recently reunited at the 2025 CMA Awards. “I miss the guy I was partners with for 10 years. I miss my old roommate, my best man at my wedding, and if nothing else, we should have a relationship.”
If you hadn’t heard, Jelly Roll has been pardoned. On Thursday, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee pardoned him for two robbery and drug felonies issued before 2010 in Davidson County, offering him forgiveness from the state. “His story is remarkable, and it’s a redemptive, powerful story, which is what you look for and what you hope for,” Lee told reporters, “It was evident to me that this is a man who should get a pardon
Country artist Ned LeDoux, son of late rodeo world champion and entertainer Chris LeDoux, is making his acting debut in Buffalo Daze, now streaming on Amazon Prime. The Western drama follows Jim Grinder, an “Indian cowboy” on an Indian Reservation, an outlaw to the government but a hero to his Tribe, as he fights a law that would make his very existence a crime during a time when the Old West was fading and the world was on the brink of war.
Miranda Lambert is bringing her storytelling skills from the stage to the screen. The news has just dropped that she will serve as executive producer on a new untitled scripted series for Hulu. Sony Pictures Television is currently in the process of developing the new series. A premiere date has yet to be revealed. In addition to working on the new series, Miranda is gearing up for what could be a very celebratory night at the 68th Grammys in February. Already a three-time GRAMMY winner, she’s heading into this year a four-time nominee in the categories of Best Contemporary Country Album for Postcards from Texas, Best Country Song (as a writer) for “A Song to Sing” and received noms for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for both “A Song to Sing” (with Chris Stapleton) and “Trailblazer” (with Reba McEntire & Lainey Wilson).
King Charles III is heading into the new year with good news. Nearly two years after he was diagnosed with cancer, the British monarch announced that his treatment schedule “can be reduced” in 2026 “thanks to early diagnosis, effective intervention and adherence to ‘doctors’ orders.”
George Clooney is mourning the loss of one of his closest confidants. His sister, Adelia “Ada” Zeidler, died Dec. 19 after battling cancer. She was 65.
