After 15 years of making music together, Maddie & Tae are calling it quits. The duo said the decision was, quote, “heartbreaking.” But Maddie added that they’re leaving things open ended. She said maybe they’ll record another album one day . . . maybe do some shows . . . but “in this season” it didn’t feel right to keep going. But apparently, their friendship is still solid. In fact, they said stepping back from their career will actually help them become better friends. The turning point came during a sad phone call in September. Tae told Maddie her heart was at home, and Maddie said, “Okay. Then that’s what we need to do.” Tae says she is stepping back to raise her kids, and Maddie is heading into a solo chapter. Leonardo DiCaprio has been named Entertainer of the Year by “Time”. And he says it’s important to “disappear” and “get out of people’s face,” so they don’t get sick of him.
Kelsea Ballerini had a testy moment onstage in Sydney this week. She was right in the middle of her song “Penthouse” when someone in the crowd yelled, “Team Morgan!” That is of course referring to her ex-husband Morgan Evans. The crowd booed, and Kelsea fired back.” She rolled her eyes and playfully flipped a middle finger. She then answered, “How about ‘team everyone happy’?” “Penthouse” is on her album “Rolling Up the Welcome Mat” . . . which she wrote after their divorce. So yeah, emotions run deep with that one. After the show, Kelsea posted on Instagram saying, quote, “if anyone yells anything disrespectful during this song again, it will no longer be on the setlist.”
Glen Powell and Megan Moroney just sparked a whole new round of romance rumors after being spotted together in Los Angeles this weekend. Megan’s in town to pick up “Variety’s” Storyteller of the Year award, and the two were seen at a restaurant together. This comes after Glen had been spending time with “Landman” star Michelle Randolph. They were even seen two stepping at the Broken Spoke in Austin, with Glen leading her around the dance floor. And before that, he took Michelle as his date to the “Chad Powers” premiere. But here’s the twist. Megan once told “CMT” she was interested in Glen and hoped to meet him someday. Looks like that wish finally came true. Whether it’s romantic or just friendly, good for her. Shoot your shot.
