Here are the biggest country music stories that happened over the holiday:
- Tracy Lawrence’s Mission: Possible Turkey Fry was a big success. But it wasn’t without some last-minute drama. The night before the event one of the trucks stalled out . . . and they lost 650 turkeys. But Nashville came through in the clutch. A bunch of country stars stepped up to fill the gap. Tucker Wetmore even dropped off 100 of his own.
- Post Malone performed the halftime show at the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving game . . . and now fans are wanting him to play the Super Bowl. After the Cowboys beat the Chiefs, Post got to throw the football around on the field with some fans.
- And Jelly Roll donated 300 Thanksgiving meals to the detention center in Nashville where he was once an inmate.
Ella Langley is still celebrating her huge haul at the 2025 CMA Awards for her duet with Riley Green. “You Look Like You Love Me” won Single of the Year . . . Song of the Year . . . and Music Video of the Year. But all fans can ever talk about is who she’s dating. The rumor mill used to be focused on Riley, but the new name popping up is John Sansone from the show “Farmer Wants a Wife” – a sixth-generation farmer out in St. Louis . . . but is now a reality TV star. And he just broke up with his showmance, Claire, earlier this summer. He’s also cousins with Sophia Sansone, who works with Luke Combs and once dated Riley. John posted some pictures yesterday that include Ella’s dog Crue . . . and then Ella posted a video where the two of them are shooting together.
It was a big weekend if you’re an Alabama fan. So, it was brave of Riley Green to do a show in “enemy” territory at Neville Arena in Auburn, Alabama before the Iron Bowl . . . And he was even brave enough to let Charles Barkley on stage to say a few words. Barkley was a superstar at Auburn . . . and he hates Alabama. First, he told everyone that going to Auburn was, “the best decision of my life.” And he said, “let’s have fun with Riley Green.”
Luke Combs is gearing up for his My Kinda Saturday Night Tour next year . . . and he wants openers who push him to be better. His tour is taking place in iconic stadiums like Lambeau Field . . . Neyland Stadium . . . Notre Dame Stadium . . . and even Wembley Stadium in London. Luke wants to stack the lineup with serious talent. Which means he’s bringing some heavy hitters for his openers: Dierks Bentley . . . Thomas Rhett . . . and even The Script from Ireland. Luke said, “I pick all my openers . . . I know Dierks puts on a great show. I know TR puts on a great show . . . You can’t phone it in playing after Dierks. You can’t phone it in playing after TR.” Riley had to see that coming. But to be fair, he got the last word. Alabama beat Auburn 27 to 20.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner continued their friendly co-parenting relationship with a Thanksgiving dinner together. Photos from Thursday showed Affleck arriving at his ex’s Los Angeles home with son Samuel and what appeared to be his mom, Chris Boldt, in tow. The formerly married pair met up to spend the holiday with their children and Affleck’s mom, “just like last year,”
Vanessa Hudgens gave birth to baby #2 with Cole Tucker.
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade had 34.3 million viewers across NBC and Peacock.
