George Strait just posted the flyer from his 1999 George Strait Chevy Truck Music Festival, along with the caption, “Here’s a clue! Let us know your guess in the comments. Now everyone’s convinced that this means he’s planning a massive comeback. One fan wrote, “I still have my original brochure from that show. Best concert of my life. Please bring it back” . . . and another joked, “I would sell a kidney if it means seeing George and Tim on the same stage again.” If the rumors are true, this would be a revival of one of the biggest tours in the history of country music. The George Strait Country Music Festival took place three times from 1998 to 2000 and was the first to prove that country music could fill football stadiums all over the U.S. Now, 25 years later, fans are hoping that George will bring it back once more. And maybe Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney will join him again?
Morgan Wallen just landed yet another #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with his single “I Got Better”. Here’s the fun part: he dethroned himself in the process. His song “What I Want”, with Tate McRae, had the #1 spot for 20 straight weeks. But not anymore. This new single marks Morgan’s 12th career #1 on Hot Country Songs since he first topped the chart in 2019. The next best during that time period is Luke Combs, who is in second place with four #1s. And recently Morgan teased a possible 2026 tour. He posted, “What I do when I’m trying to decide if ima tour in ’26 or not.”
Did you know that Reba McEntire and Nick Jonas go way back? The two first worked together back in 2001, when Reba made her Broadway debut in the revival of “Annie Get Your Gun”. She starred as sharpshooter Annie Oakley . . . while a young Nick Jonas played Little Jake. And now they’re reuniting on “The Voice” this season, nearly 25 years later. Nick is serving as the Battle Rounds advisor for Team Reba. To celebrate their reunion, Reba posted a side-by-side recreation of an old photo from that Broadway run. It shows Reba hugging a pint-sized Nick Jonas. In her caption, she wrote, “Full circle with my Voice Battle advisor.”
Megan Moroney just announced her new single “Beautiful Things” will get released on October 24th. She recently did a special fan event at La La Land coffee shop in Nashville, and performed an acoustic version of the new song. Guests at the event received custom coffee sleeves with blank spaces to write notes of encouragement. It’s still unclear whether “Beautiful Things” and her earlier single “6 Months Later” mean that a new album is on the way . . . But her fans are crossing their fingers.
Jim Carrey is in talks to star in a live-action version of “The Jetsons”.
