Amy Schumer had surgery Friday on her lower spine. She says it’s a short recovery and was due to a surfing injury back in the day.
Morgan Wallen just tied Elton John for 39 nonconsecutive weeks at the #1 spot on the Billboard Album 200 chart. The Beatles still hold the record for most weeks with 132, followed by Taylor Swift with 86, and Elvis Presley with 67.
Morgan Wallen has three sisters, Ashlyne, Mikaela, and Lacey. Mikaela just posted a cover of the Animals’ song “House of the Rising Sun” on her Instagram. And the girl’s got some pipes. Apparently, musical talent did not just stop with Morgan in their family. She captioned the post, “Felt brave . . . might delete later.” But fans in the comments are loving it, and begging her not to delete it. One fan even said, “You should be on tour with your brother and dropping an album.”
Zach Top is one of the best new singers in all of country music. But he’s also causing a little bit of family drama, too. John Osborne of Brothers Osborne just shared a voicemail from his mom, and then said that Zach has replaced them as her favorite. Here’s what the voicemail said. “Hey John, have you played with Zach Top yet? If you haven’t, I’d like to have one of his records. Alrighty, love you, bye.” But here’s the crazy part. His sister Natalie actually discovered Zach and signed him to his record deal. So yes, the family connection runs deep . . . but it sounds like Mom has chosen her new favorite.
In case you missed it, Luke Combs recently said that he was going to let his fans pick all of the tracks for his new album. Well, Luke just uploaded 14 demos to a “secret” Instagram account. The account handle is “lcombs77”, and the bio reads “Crowdsourcing songs for my next album.” And after listening to the songs, we can pretty much guarantee that Luke’s 6th studio album is going to be a smash-hit. “Whiskey Riff” went to the trouble of ranking them, but honestly, they’re all pretty great. There’s no word yet if these are all of the songs he’ll upload, or if another batch is coming. But rest assured, country music is in a good place.
Zach Bryan is a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. Which means he should still be on a high from last year’s Super Bowl win. But instead, he’s talking smack about the Kansas City Chiefs. Zach wrote, “Where are all the three-peat people from last year?” Which angered a lot of Chiefs fans, because the Eagles ended the Chiefs chance at a three-peat last year. Here’s what a fan said in response, “Talking [smack] in general is all good. He’s singled out one fanbase. That same fanbase that sells out his shows.” And Zach being the impetuous star he is, responded with, “Please understand I will never play in Kansas City.” The fan then said, “Great news. Take us off your live album.” And Zach said, “Done brother.” We’ve only finished one week of the preseason in the NFL and tensions are already running high.
