Last week Miranda Lambert mentioned that she had something in the works for Texas flood relief. And now, it’s official. Yesterday she announced a benefit concert called, “Band Together Texas”, along with fellow headliner and Texan, Parker McCollum. It will take place August 17th at the Moody Center in downtown Austin. All proceeds will directly benefit the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country. Besides Miranda and Parker, here are some other artists that are scheduled to perform: Kelly Clarkson . . . Cody Johnson . . . Ronnie Dunn . . . Lyle Lovett . . . Randy Rogers Band . . . Wade Bowen . . . Lukas Nelson, and more. And if that’s not exciting enough, there will also be appearances by Matthew McConaughey . . . Dennis Quaid . . . Roger Clemens . . . Mack Brown . . . Colt McCoy . . . Vince Young . . . Chris Harrison . . . and Emmanuel Acho.
Jelly Roll guest hosted “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last week and it was a success. Here were some of the highlights:
1. His opening monologue was super funny and he delivered it well. One of the best lines was, “If I really suck bad, remember my name is Post Malone.”
2. Another great line was when he said, “Do not adjust your TV. Jimmy did not join MS-13.”
3. He also talked about his upcoming WWE match at SummerSlam and said, “I know you’re probably thinking, ‘Jelly, how the hell are you going to fight in a pro wrestling match?’ But I do have a lot of qualifications. As a fat guy, I’ve broken several folding chairs.”
4. And then he got to do something that most Americans have dreamed about for years. He got to chokeslam Logan Paul.
A new exhibit just opened at the Country Music Hall of Fame. It’s called “Lainey Wilson: Tough as Nails”. It features mementos and artifacts from her upbringing in Baskin, Louisiana all the way to the present day. And of course, Lainey is as humble as ever about it. She said, “Even though I have been working my entire life for this, I still feel like I somehow got started yesterday . . . So, for me, I was a little bit like . . . An exhibit? Oh, shoot. Is there enough story to tell?” One of the highlights at the exhibit is a photo from Lainey’s first stage appearance in 1998. She sang “Butterfly Kisses” at her kindergarten graduation. At the exhibit, there’s a treasure trove of old keepsakes all kept by her mom, Michelle. Lainey said, “I have never been more proud of the fact that my momma was a hoarder until now.” You can go see “Lainey Wilson: Tough as Nails” at the Country Music Hall of Fame through June 2026.
