Conner Smith was involved in a fatal car accident this past weekend.  He was driving his truck in Nashville when he allegedly struck and killed a woman walking in a crosswalk. The woman was 77-year-old, Dorothy Dobbins.  She was transferred from the scene to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she later died. According to a release from the Nashville Police Department, here’s what happened:  “The preliminary contributing factor for this crash appears to be Smith failing to yield the right of way to the pedestrian . . . He showed no signs of impairment.” Connor’s attorney released this statement:  “His heart goes out to Ms. Dobbins’ family during this incredibly difficult time . . . Mr. Smith continues to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.” The incident took place on Sunday, the final night of CMA Fest.  Conner had performed just the day before.  Currently there are no charges filed.

Wynonna Judd said she’s bringing country music BACK . . . and she’ll start this Friday in Georgia when her new tour kicks off. She said in a recent interview, “’80s and ’90s country baby.  I’m on a mission to remind folks of what country music used to be. . . I don’t think we celebrate it enough.” And that’s exactly what she means to do with the Wynonna Judd: The Greatest Hits Tour.

Laci Kaye Booth thinks George Strait is sexy, and she doesn’t care who hears it. In fact, she wants everyone to hear it, because she just released a new song called, “George [Effing] Strait”. And that title is bound to anger a bunch of old biddies. Here are some of the lyrics:  “I bet it’s Texas, the way he’s walking . . . Tall drink of water and a ten-gallon hat . . . Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson has died.  His family didn’t announce the exact date or cause of death, but he was diagnosed with dementia and placed in a conservatorship last year.  He was 82.
