Jelly Roll just said that he’s going to quit the music business after accomplishing the unthinkable. He’s joking but it’s pretty cool for a guy who started his career as a rapper. His wife Bunnie Xo posted the clip on Instagram. He said, “I was on Lil Wayne and Eminem’s album in the same year, y’all . . . I retire. It’s over, y’all. I quit the music business. This is my last tour ever. I can’t do anything cooler.” Jelly is currently on tour with Post Malone
There was once quite a bit of drama between Rascal Flatts and Eric Church. The story is, in 2006 Eric was opening up for Rascal Flatts, but they were upset that Eric’s set kept running late. They warned him, and he didn’t back down, so they kicked him off the tour. And the person that replaced him was Taylor Swift! It was the first tour of her life. But it seems like things between Eric and the lead singer of Rascal Flatts, Gary LeVox, have not gotten better since then. In 2023, Eric told the story online, and then Gary reposted it mocking Eric. And then just the other night, Rascal Flatts were doing an interview and talked more smack about him. But here’s the kicker. They were at Chief’s in Nashville, which is Eric’s bar. Maybe things are fine between them and they just like needling each other, but to throw shots at Eric while you’re standing on his stage is next level. Here’s what Gary said when asked about the incident, “Well, he was a new artist. And he couldn’t afford a watch. Because he was late every time.” But Jay DeMarcus jumped in and said that he loves Eric’s music and he has done plenty fine without them. But Gary really wanted the last word, and he said, “He just keeps talking about it a lot.” And then sang “Let it Go” from “Frozen”.
