Back in November, Post Malone announced the Big [Butt] Stadium Tour with Jelly Roll and Sierra Ferrell, that will run from April to July in stadiums across the United States . . . plus one show in Toronto. Well now Posty is taking his tour GLOBAL.  He just announced the Big [Butt] WORLD Tour with 18 international dates starting on August 8th in Romania . . . and ending on September 14th in Portugal.Sierra will not be going on the World Tour, but Jelly Roll will be accompanying him on most of the dates.

Cody Johnson just played two sold-out shows at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, and it’s hard to find anyone online that didn’t think the show was incredible. But it was his surprise guests that really made news.  First, he brought out Carrie Underwood and they sang their duet, “I’m Gonna Love You”. And then to close it down, Cody brought out Luke Combs and they sang a very rowdy, “Beer Never Broke My Heart”.  The crowd went nuts . . . what a way to end the show. I guess the cool thing about Nashville shows is that there’s a pretty good chance that major stars will come out and sing a song or two.  Easy commute.

Well, this is nice timing.  Lainey Wilson finally got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Duck Hodges, last week.  And if you didn’t know, her song “4X4XU” is all about their relationship. And then only a few days after she got engaged, “4X4XU” went to #1 on the Mediabase country chart.  This is Lainey’s eighth #1, but this one’s gotta have the best timing. Especially because she released it seven months ago.  So, this might be a winning formula.  Write a song about your boyfriend, wait awhile till he proposes, and then that song goes to #1.  Easy peasy.

Did you ever wonder how Conway Twitty got his name?  Because his real name is Harold Jenkins. Well, an old video is making the rounds again where Conway is talking with David Letterman and explaining the origin of his very original name. He said, “I though Disc Jockeys back in the ’50s got so many records, every week they’d get 50, 60 new records.  And they had to decide what they were going to play, and I thought well maybe with an interesting name like Elvis Presley, they might play it.” But he still couldn’t come up with a name, so out of desperation he opened a MAP back in 1957 and started looking around the Memphis area, where he’s from.  The first town that jumped out at him was Conway, Arkansas.  And the next town he saw was Twitty, Texas. And the rest, as they say, is history.
