“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” made $110 million in its opening weekend. That’s the second-biggest September opening of all time, behind the first chapter of “It”, which debuted with $123 million in 2017.

Zach Bryan is a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. Last week someone on Twitter asked him, “How we feeling about the birds this year.” And Zach said, “I oathed a long time ago to never tweet during football season about football again . . . we will be trialed and tested.” And according to his online activity throughout the first couple games of the season, he failed that test pretty badly. But it was worth it for us. Here are some of his best lines:
1. “We have to get a taunting call in this game just for old time’s sake, right?”
2. “Do we stop watching now or is it the refs the whole game, we think?”
3. “Wonder how many pissed off Philadelphia old timers are screaming curse words in their living rooms right now trying to figure out what the hell Peacock is.”
4. “Since anyone can call timeouts now, I’m expecting some Brazilians to start throwing out some T’s”
Keith Urban was being interviewed by an Australian radio station and talking about Country musicians that he loved. And he found a very awkward way to praise Miley Cyrus. He said, “I love that voice, man. She sounds like an ashtray. And I mean that as a compliment.” It’s true that Miley has a really raspy voice, but saying it sounds like an ashtray does not sound complimentary whatsoever. In fact, it’s hard to find something that’s less appealing than an ashtray. But he said he meant well. And I’m sure Miley has heard worse.
Carrie Underwood will be the new judge on “American Idol” this season, after Katy Perry left . . . and fans everywhere are eager to see how she will do. Even Simon Cowell had some words of encouragement for her. He said, “Carrie [and I], we go back a long way. I remember her audition like it was yesterday. She was so good, she’s such a sweet person.” Regarding the advice he would give her, this is what he had to say: “You gotta just say how you feel. It’s not that difficult doing this job, I promise you. We all feel the same things, and we don’t agree, thank God. Otherwise, life would be boring.” I hope Carrie says just what she feels, too. But something tells me she’s going to be a little bit kinder than Simon
When Lainey Wilson was first getting really popular, she was often teased for having a big butt. But ever since then, Lainey has been working out and shed a few pounds, and now fans are mad about that, too.
Here are a few more Good News stories making the rounds . . .
1. A gigantic, 38-pound cat has been rescued from a Russian hospital, where it was being fed cookies and soup. It was named Kroshik, which means “Crumbs” in Russian . . . after its ability to DEVOUR food. Crumbs may not have minded . . . at least at first . . . but it was no longer able to walk. The cat is now being cared for by vets, and yes, it’s on a diet.
2. A dog was seen wandering Vermont for a week with a bucket-like plastic container stuck over its head. The dog ran from anyone who tried to approach it, but eventually animal control was able to rescue the dog, using a trap featuring McDonald’s chicken nuggets. The dog is now known as Buckethead, or Bucky . . . and it could’ve been roaming around like that for a MONTH. Bucky survived by eating and drinking through an opening in the bucket.
3. Chicago has a “Tool Library”, with thousands of tools for residents to borrow. Over 90% of the tools have been donated by locals. And people can sign up for “pay-what-you-can” memberships that grant you access to the vast collection.
