Money can’t buy everything, especially if you’re a convicted felon.  Just ask Jelly Roll.  He says his record recently cost him his DREAM HOME. He talked about how he spent most of his time from 14 to 25 in jail, and opened up about an armed robbery when he was 15 that he still regrets every day. He brought it up to talk about how being a convicted felon closes a lot of doors, especially in Tennessee where violent crimes can’t be expunged — he can’t get decent life insurance, and can’t volunteer at his local YMCA. He said it recently came up again when he and his wife thought they’d landed their dream home in a nice, gated community next to a golf course. They accepted his offer at first.  But then, “They turn around and say, ‘No, the golf course won’t let a felon be a part of the community.'” He said he spent every birthday from 15 to 20 in jail, and it totally changed him.  So that’s why he focuses most of his charity work on keeping kids OUT of jail.

Since her death, Tina Turner’s music has seen a massive spike in sales and listens.  Songs like “What’s Love Got to Do with It” and “Private Dancer” are up by hundreds of thousands of percentage points . . . as is the “Private Dancer” album.   Meanwhile, the Internet is reminding people that Beyoncé and Jay-Z basically mocked Tina Turner’s abuse by her husband Ike in their song “Drunk In Love” . . . especially since Beyoncé posted such a glowing tribute to Tina after she died.  Now the country music community is still mourning the passing of Tina Turner.  Online posts include Dolly Parton who wrote, “Roll on Tina.  We will always love you.”  Mickey Guyton called her “Simply the best.” Faith Hill said, “We will never forget you, Tina.”  And Keith Urban wrote, “It hit my heart.  Thank you for everything you gave, Tina.”

Jake Owen shared a video yesterday of himself performing his new song Solo, Solo with his four-year-old daughter Paris.  He’s on acoustic guitar and she’s at his side.
