Katy Perry reportedly wants to quit “American Idol” because of all the criticism she’s been getting online this season.  She blames the producers for editing the show to make her seem like a mean judge.

If it seems like every country star learned how to sing in the church, that’s because it’s mostly true.  It certainly was for Miranda Lambert . “I really learned how to sing growing up in the Pentecostal [church].  That’s all about the music [and] raising the hands in the air, and I think that’s where I started to pick up harmonies and understand what that meant.  And then I started singing in seventh grade in the youth group and I was very shy, but church felt like a good place to start because it wasn’t scary, it was like a safe house, and I really learned how to sing at church.” Miranda grew in a county that has, by her count, 212 churches.  Her husband Brendan found that fascinating. “I took him home.  He’s a New Yorker, and he was like, ‘Why are there so many churches everywhere?’  [I was like], the South.  That’s just how it is. There’s a church on every corner.”

Here’s some insight into the pressure of wanting to be PERFECT on stage.  Nick Jonas performed with Kelsea Ballerini at the ACMs back in 2016.  And he says one bad guitar riff landed him in THERAPY. You might remember it.  It happened during her song “Peter Pan”. He talked about it on Monday’s episode of the podcast “Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard”.  He said he can laugh about it now but couldn’t back then. “I started off, it was fine.  And as I walked towards her, I just went completely blank . . . hit a wrong note . . . and blacked out.” When you watch it as a fan, it’s not really THAT bad.  He definitely flubbed it, but the whole mistake was about seven seconds long. He said it’s funny he thought it was such a big deal back then, but that live TV is always stressful, and quote, “It did cause me to go to therapy.”

Morgan Wade found out she has a high risk of breast cancer, so she’s having a double mastectomy in November.  She has the BRCA gene, which runs in the family.  Her mom had the surgery, and her cousin will be getting it too. Morgan says she’ll be staying busy right up to the surgery date.

Kelsea Ballerini brought boyfriend Chase Stokes on a hometown visit to Knoxville, Tennessee.  She said it was a “heart fillin 24 hours at home” and documented it all on her Instagram stories. Kelsea posted a photo holding Chase’s hand at her high school’s football field.

Blake Shelton won’t be back on “The Voice” next season, but there aren’t any hard feelings.  He posted a love letter to the show on Instagram, and said, “Can’t believe it’s been 23 seasons . . . it’s bittersweet . . . I’ve made lifelong friends and memories . . . Thank you to everyone.”
