Drew Barrymore has backed out of hosting Sunday’s “MTV Movie and TV Awards”, in solidarity with striking Hollywood writers.  But she has agreed to host next year’s show.

Martha Stewart enjoys being a sex symbol at 81.  She says, quote, “It’s a good example for others, actually.  I’m a teacher.  I’m trying to teach others that you can look great.  There’s no reason to slump around.”

Blake Shelton will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next week on the 12th.  He’ll be joined by his wife Gwen Stefani and “The Voice” host Carson Daly.  The ceremony will stream live at 11:30 a.m. PST at WalkofFame.com.

Dolly Parton’s Dollywood is launching its longest roller coaster EVER next week on the 12th.  It’s called Big Bear Mountain and has 3,990 feet of track.  The ride lasts for almost two minutes at a maximum speed of 48 miles per hour.  It’s unclear if Dolly got to ride it yet.

Did you know Scotty McCreery is a quarter Puerto Rican?  He leaned into his Latin heritage on a remix of “Why You Gotta Be Like That”, renamed “Why She Gotta Be Like That” with Colombian singer Gusi.  It’s out now.

Thomas Rhett kicked off his “Home Team Tour” last night, with the support of his four daughters.  They sent him drawings, which his team enlarged and framed.  Thomas said, quote, “My team trying to make me cry first night of tour . . . sheesh.”

Luke Bryan’s son Bo just got his driver’s permit.  His wife Caroline posted a video with Bo and joked that she’s terrified.  She captioned it, quote, ” Some of y’all might want to take the bus for a while!”

Amber Heard reportedly quit Hollywood and moved to Spain.

Two years ago, Tom Brady signed a deal with Fox to become their next lead NFL analyst whenever he retired. His deal was a record-setting one, obliterating any other broadcasting contract at 10 years, $375 million. However, after retiring (again) earlier this year, Brady and Fox both agreed to wait until 2024 to start his deal, allowing the future Hall of Famer to take a year off from football completely, and also learn and get more comfortable as a broadcaster.
