People are still asking Dolly Parton why she refused, and then accepted being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It came up in an interview with Apple Music’s Proud Radio that debuted yesterday. “I felt like I was taking votes from somebody that had spent a career trying to be in the Hall, and I thought ‘What am I doing in here?’ [I] felt like I was out of place, like I was betraying somebody else.” Her opinion changed when the Hall told her she deserved it, AND the decision was already made. “Then they explained [that] to me and said I was gonna get it anyway, so I thought ‘Well, I’m gonna accept it graciously’.”
Kenny Chesney’s dog Ruby passed away, and he posted a photo with a very sweet tribute. Here’s some of it. Quote, “She had an ancient, calming soul. She was honest and authentic. She was a protector. She took a warrior’s path in the journey of her life. Bye-bye, Ruby. You were a very good girl. We loved you and thank you for teaching us how to love unconditionally.”
Clint Black’s wife Lisa Hartman Black backed out of his gig in Kansas on Saturday night, because she wasn’t feeling well. The show went on without her with Clint and their daughter Lily. The Black Family is in the midst of their Mostly Hits & The Mrs. Tour, which kicked off last month.
Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn finally took the stage together to perform their hit, “Thank God”. It was at Kane’s show last week in Ottawa, Canada. He posted a clip on Instagram and wrote, “My baby’s first time on stage singing our song together. She killed it, of course, and I’m so proud.”
Scotty McCreery used to get compared to Josh Turner early in his career. But he can sound a lot like Elvis too. He certainly does in this clip of him singing a cover of “Santa Claus Is Back in Town”. It’s from his “CMT Campfire Sessions”.
