John Aniston, the Emmy-winning star of the daytime soap opera “Days of Our Lives” and father of Jennifer Aniston, has died at age 89.

The actor’s daughter posted a tribute to him Monday morning on Instagram, announcing that he had died Friday, Veteran’s Day. John Aniston served in the U.S. Navy.

“Sweet papa … John Anthony Aniston,” Jennifer Aniston wrote. “You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace — and without pain. And on 11/11 no less! You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now.”

John Aniston’s acting credits included “Search for Tomorrow,” “The West Wing” and “Gilmore Girls.” But he was best-known for his long-running role on “Days of Our Lives” as Victor Kiriakis

In 2017, his work on “Days of Our Lives” brought him an Emmy nomination for best supporting actor in a drama series. Earlier this year, he was presented a lifetime achievement Emmy, with Jennifer Aniston

John Aniston has been working in television consistently for over half a century.

John Aniston was born Greece, and emigrated with his family to Pennsylvania when he was a child. A theater major at Penn State University, he began his professional acting career in the 1960s,

Garth Brooks will be doing a Vegas residency next year.  “Garth Brooks/Plus ONE” will be at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. “We’re gonna try something we’ve never tried before.  The band is coming, but it’s a one-man show.  They’re going to sit in the audience. “So at any time you want a fiddle to come up and join you, any time you just want percussion and background to come up and sing, or it’s just you . . . or, let’s bring the whole band up and do ‘Friends in Low Places’.  This should be stupid.” He said Trisha will sing in the show . . . and there will be other “occasional” guests.  The run will feature dates in May, June, and July . . . and then in November and December.

Luke Bryan’s wife Caroline had “unexpected” hip surgery . . . but there’s hope that it won’t stop her from torturing Luke in their yearly “12 Days of Pranksmas”. I’m able to say that because she seems to be doing very well.  She posted photos and videos from the Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee.  As usual, she has a great sense of humor about the whole thing. In one pic she’s wearing scrubs and giving two thumbs up.  There’s a clip of her friends keeping her company, and one is holding up a T-shirt that says, “Straight Outta Hip Surgery”.  There are several silly stickers attached to her walker. She didn’t say why she had the surgery, so there’s no timeline on her recovery.

Auburn’s football team added a fun tradition at home games this year that’s a spoof on “The Masked Singer”. One Auburn player pops up on the jumbo screen with a helmet and visor on, so you can’t tell who it is.  Then they sing a song, and fans have to guess the player. They did it again at their game against Texas A&M on Saturday.  And the song was “Better Together” by Luke Combs. The player turned out to be defensive end Derick Hall, who’s expected to go in the first round of the NFL draft next year.  He’s said he’s a “big country music fan.”

Morgan Wallen didn’t win a CMA last week, but that’s okay, because he had a really good year.  He says it’s because he stayed focused and did the work.  “I think we played like 75 shows or something this year.  And I did them all mostly in a sober state of mind.  I was really, really focused.”

The ratings for this year’s CMA Awards were UP compared to last year.  According to the “Hollywood Reporter”, 7.6 million viewers tuned in this year, compared to 6.8 million last year.  The 2021 number was an all-time low, so the organizers are probably relieved that the show got a bump this year.

Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie XO, said on her podcast, “My husband is off the internet because he is so tired of being bullied about his weight.  And that makes me want to cry because he is the sweetest angel baby.  [He] doesn’t show it to you guys, but . . . it hurts him. The…

Ever since the great Nashville chair-throw of 2024, no one has heard anything from Morgan Wallen . . . until this past Friday night.  Morgan finally tweeted out and accepted responsibility for his actions. He said, “I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks.  I’ve touched base with Nashville…
