Darius Rucker was on the “Today Show” last Friday explaining the title of his next album.  “At the end of the day, I’m really still just ‘Carolyn’s Boy’.  I wanted to name it that because Mom never got to see any of my success.  She died before any of this happened, so it’s just another homage to the greatest woman I’ve ever known.”  The album will be out next year.

Keith Urban has a new residency at Planet Hollywood in Vegas.  His previous one at Caesar’s Palace was cut short due to Covid-19.  He’s excited because, “I love the sort of club arena vibe, and I think that room already has a bit more of that rock and roll spirit, so I’ll be making the most of that.”  It kicks off in March.  Tickets go on sale Saturday at Ticketmaster.

Toby Keith did an impromptu performance on Friday at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse in Lexington, Kentucky.  He was in town for the 2022 Breeder’s World Cup Championship and he had dinner at the restaurant. Then he hung around to do his FIRST live performance since his stomach cancer diagnosis.  He told the crowd he hasn’t worked “in about a year” and then he joined the house band to sing, “(Sittin’ on) The Dock of the Bay”. He didn’t end it there, though.  He also hung around to perform his 2003 hit, “I Love This Bar” and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama”.

Luke Bryan packed about a week’s worth of activities into one day last Saturday.  It started in Tampa, Florida and it ended there that night with his concert.  He gave the crowd a recap of it all, and somebody got it on video. “This morning we pulled up here at 7:00 A.M.  [So] I woke up at seven, I got on a plane, I flew to Athens, [Georgia].  I went on ‘College Game Day’.  I went to my nephew’s house.  I did a keg stand. “I started drinking cold beer, then I went to Peyton Manning’s place.  Me and him drank some beers, then I went out and watched football all day.  I’ve been drinking beer since 10:30 in the morning.  “And I told everybody on ‘Game Day’, ‘Don’t be trying to get your damn money back from the show tonight, alright?’  I don’t need no One Star Yelp review.  I’m a Five Star recruit tonight.” Did that lead to a wild show?  At one point a shirtless guy jumped onto the stage, but instead of having security drag him off, Luke let him dance around and act foolish.  Somebody posted that fine moment on TikTok.
