If you’re a Luke Combs fan, you know he went to Appalachian State University, in Boone, North Carolina . . . and that he still loves the place. Well, ESPN will be there tomorrow for “College Game Day” . . . so they asked if he’d like to be the Guest Picker. He said yes, even though he’s performing in Green Bay, Wisconsin tonight AND tomorrow night. He announced it on Twitter: “The logistics were very difficult, but we got it put together and I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Boone, I’m going to be your guest picker this week. Don’t even ask me who I’m picking, you know who I’m pickin’, baby.” It’s a huge game for Appalachian State because last week they upset the #6 team in the country, Texas A&M, so the spotlight’s on them. Tomorrow’s opponent is Troy University . . . from Troy, Alabama.
Lainey Wilson joined the “Songs of ‘Yellowstone'” panel at AmericanaFest in Nashville the other day. As you may know, she’s going to be on Season Five playing a character that is basically, herself. But on the panel she performed a few songs from the show, and made a big reveal. Turns out her single, “Watermelon Moonshine”, will be featured in an episode. She also performed an unplugged version of it.
Vince Gill’s “CMT Giants” airs tonight . . . and it’ll feature Chris Stapleton performing a cover of Vince’s 1994 hit “Whenever You Come Around”. Chris also thanked Vince for inspiring and encouraging him in his career . . . even inviting him to songwriting sessions early on.
Parker McCollum spent three days hunting at Aught Six Ranch in southern Colorado this week, and took down a MASSIVE 12-point bull elk on his last day. He posted a photo on Instagram and called it the “bull of a lifetime.”
