“Thor: Love and Thunder” ran away with the box office this weekend, but fans and critics aren’t too high on it. Many are saying it’s too goofy and jokey, almost like a kids’ movie.
There’s a new “Captain America” movie coming, but Chris Evans won’t say if he’s in it. He tweeted, quote, “Sam Wilson is Captain America”, but that doesn’t mean he won’t make an appearance.
Several celebrity deaths to report this morning:
1. Oprah’s father, Vernon Winfrey, passed away Friday. He was 89. Oprah had just held an “appreciation day” for him on the 4th of July. She was with him when he passed.

A guy who worked on “BoJack Horseman” made a 5-minute pilot episode for an animated “Golden Girls” series. But there’s a twist . . . it’s called “Golden Girls 3033” and everything is futuristic. Rose, Dorothy, Blanche, and Sophia have found the Fountain of Youth, and are still living together more than 1,000 years into the future. Oh, and Sophia’s head is now on a giant yellow robot. The video uses original dialog from the show, but adds visual gags to go along with the futuristic setting. The creator hopes it’ll get picked up and can be the, quote, “beginning of the whole ‘Golden Girls’-a-verse.” He even shouts out Disney+ at the end of the pilot to get their attention.
Some things never change. Luke Bryan fell on stage again during his show in Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday. He was dancing and singing “That’s My Kind of Night” when he tripped on an electrical wire and fell on his backside. His tour manager rushed out to help, and Luke went along with it for a little bit and then decided to lay back and chill for a bit. He eventually got up and started dancing again.
I’m already convinced Luke Combs and his wife Nicole are great parents. People have been telling them to hire a “night nurse” to help care for their son Tex, who was born on Father’s Day. Here’s Luke’s answer to that . . . Quote, “We’re gonna do it on our own. This child didn’t have a choice to be born. You know, it was our choice to bring him into the world. So I think it would be super selfish of me to go, ‘Oh, now I don’t have time to do this thing.'”
