When Luke Combs took the stage at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium during CMA Fest on Saturday night it officially marked the last show he’ll play before his son is born. He and his wife Nicole are currently expecting their first child, and Nicole has indicated that she’s due in June, which means baby boy Combs could be making his appearance any day now. “I just figure I’ll be changing my fair share of diapers after tonight, for sure. This is my last show as a not-dad. Confirmed.” Luke’s planning to be an active and present father for the newborn stage — and that includes being on diaper duty.

When we talk about an actor’s struggle with weight or image, we’re usually talking about women. But men go through drastic weight loss or excessive workout routines for movie roles, too. Here are a few examples:
1. Zac Efron didn’t have a carb for six months when shooting “Baywatch”.
2. Christian Bale lost 63 pounds for “The Machinist”. His daily diet – an apple, a can of tuna, and coffee.
3. Chris Hemsworth lost 33 pounds in FOUR weeks for “In the Heart of the Sea”. He did this by only eating 500 calories a day . . . like only a boiled egg, a couple of crackers, and a celery stick.
4. Jared Leto lost 28 pounds for “Requiem for a Dream” by nibbling on raw vegetables . . . he even started to faint on set. Then when he did “Chapter 27” he had to gain 60 pounds which caused him to get gout.
5. Matt Damon lost 50 pounds to play a heroin addict in “Courage Under Fire”. He ate mostly chicken breast and he consumed around 100 calories a day and ran 13 miles daily. He ended up damaging his adrenal gland which took over a year of medication to try to fix.
6. Bradley Cooper had to gain weight for “American Sniper”, so he ate 6,000 calories a day. His daily diet included five meals, a pre- and post-workout drink, and energy bars.
7. Channing Tatum said doing the “Magic Mike” movies required starving himself, and being that lean is unhealthy.
8. Miles Teller had to gain weight for “Top Gun: Maverick”. For breakfast he’d have six eggs, then work out . . . then have a shake, and TWO lunches, each with a chicken breast, a whole potato, and broccoli. Then another snack, and for dinner it would be 20 ounces of fish or steak.
