TOM HANKS’ 31-year-old son CHET posted a YouTube video about what it’s like growing up as the son of Tom and RITA WILSON, titled “The Truth About Growing Up as a Hanks”. Chet said being the son of famous parents caused him to develop a chip on his shoulder and a hard exterior because people would judge him and gossip behind his back. “I didn’t have a strong male role model to tell me . . .’Bro, these people. They are just jealous of you . . . You have all these things that they want, so they are trying to throw their shade at you so you can feel [crappy] about yourself.’ . . .”My experience was more complicated because, on top of fame already being toxic, I wasn’t even famous . . . I was just the son of somebody famous, so I hadn’t even done anything to deserve any sort of recognition . . . that created a lot of contempt.” But Chet says he’s made changes and is no longer headed down a destructive road. And he started his own self-mastery program called HanxFit, where he will post workout routines, meal plans, and meditation techniques.

Warner Brothers is bringing back the Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote . . . and teaming them up with JOHN CENA . . . in a movie called “Coyote vs. Acme”. It’s a hybrid animated / live-action movie, and it sounds pretty awesome. The Coyote actually SUES the Acme company because their products keep MAIMING him when he tries to use them to catch the Roadrunner. He’s defended by a down-on-his-luck attorney, who soon realizes that his boss at his former law firm is representing Acme. Cena will play the former boss.
SHARON STONE has kept her white dress from “Basic Instinct” sealed since filming wrapped 30 years ago. She says, “I broke the zipper, so it’s hermetically sealed like a piece of art or a very cool time capsule.”
BRANTLEY GILBERT invited a Make-A-Wish girl named Alirix to hang out with him and his band at a recent rehearsal. It started with a TikTok video she shared after her heart transplant. She talked about finding comfort in his music, that it helped her through the procedure . . . and said it was her dream to meet him. The clip went viral. Brantley saw it, and posted his own video . . . saying he was “humbled” by her story, and invited her to “come see any show, any time.” He also combined their videos and posted them yesterday on Instagram. He wrote, “The hard days make ones like this that much sweeter. So glad I got to meet sweet Alirix and her family the other day at rehearsals. Thank you @Make-A-Wish-America for helping make it happen.”
If you publish a very thick book filled with nothing but Blake Shelton drinking stories, Blake would probably give it his blessing. It would definitely have this one from JOE NICHOLS. It happened years ago, the first time they “tried” writing music together. The session lasted 30 minutes. Well, the beginning did. According to Joe, their ideas were so “dumb” they decided to go to lunch. “And then we ordered a beer. And then we ordered about six beers. We got a little tipsy and went, ‘I got the perfect idea.'” So, they went back to the writing room . . . but by the time they got there they forgot that perfect idea. So they headed back to the bar and stayed until midnight. No word if they shared a few cold ones when they teamed up for “I Got Friends That Do” . . . which is on Joe’s latest album, “Good Day for Living”.
Next month’s ACMs will have the oldest and youngest hosts in the show’s history. 76-year-old DOLLY PARTON will be the oldest, and 22-year-old GABBY BARRETT the youngest. (She’ll turn 22, two days before the show.) They’re co-hosting with Jimmie Allen, who’s a young-looking 36.
