So we’re back to guest hosts for “Jeopardy!” . . . at least for the time being.  But the first one out of the gate isn’t very exciting. It’s MAYIM BIALIK . . . who not only already guest-hosted, but has already been chosen as the permanent host for “Jeopardy!” primetime specials.  She’s taping 15 episodes . . . which is three weeks’ worth. More guest hosts will be announced as production continues.  The new season of “Jeopardy!” kicks off September 13th.Executive producer MIKE RICHARDS was supposed to be the new, permanent host . . . but he got run out of town on a rail after inappropriate comments he made on a podcast years ago came back to haunt him. Before he stepped down, he taped five episodes. . . and they WILL air before Mayim takes over

ELTON JOHN is back on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time in 21 years.  It’s all thanks to his collaboration with DUA LIPA on “Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)” that debuted at Number 81 this week.

“I’m Not For Everyone” is the first BROTHERS OSBORNE song featuring JOHN OSBORNE on lead vocals.  John said, “It wasn’t supposed to be released as a single.  We thought, ‘Hey, it would be cool just to [have me sing] a song, I think the fans will like it, it’s just something a little different.’  And then it ends up on the radio.” T.J. OSBORNE added, “I sing the second verse on that, which is cool, but it’s the first song that John takes a lead vocal part on.  So it’s a cool moment for us, [after] so many singles.” Speaking of hit songs, they were asked when they REALLY knew they had made it. T.J said, “Honestly, it’s when we got haters.  When we’re big enough for people to hate our guts.  It DID bother us at first for a long time and then you get to the point when you say, ‘I like who I am.'”

The wait is over:  KACEY MUSGRAVES announced that her new album is called “Star-Crossed”, and it’ll be out September 10th.  She’s also releasing a 50-minute movie called “Star-Crossed” that was filmed earlier this year in Los Angeles. It’ll debut on Paramount+ on the same day as the album’s release.

MITCHELL TENPENNY’s “Truth About You” is about the “alternative facts” that get spread around after a breakup.  “A lot of people tell lies and do bad things that really hurt someone’s reputation.  I wanted to write a song about that.”

Ben Affleck was snapped browsing engagement rings at Tiffany’s in the company of his mom Sam and son Samuel Monday — presumably for his on-again love Jennifer Lopez. Affleck first popped the question to Lopez back in November 2002 during Bennifer days, using a 6.1-carat pink diamond that reportedly cost $2.5 million. But the couple decided to postpone their planned 2003 wedding, blaming “excessive media attention”. The couple officially broke things off in 2004:

Walker Hayes’ new song “Fancy Like” mentions the Oreo Cookie Shake at Applebee’s and now the restaurant is bringing it back.  It was a casualty of the coronavirus pandemic, however, for a limited time, customers can order the shake.  The lyric, “We fancy like Applebee’s on a date night, got that Bourbon Street steak with the Oreo shake.”  Fancy Like is currently No. 27 on the country radio charts

In 1997, STING and his wife TRUDIE STYLER purchased a vineyard in Tuscany.  But in a new interview, Sting claims they were TRICKED into buying it. The seller was a man named Duke Simone Vincenzo Velluti Zati di San Clemente.  And according to Sting, he gave them a Chianti from the estate to sample . . . and it was so good that they bought the place immediately. But the wine he gave them was actually from another region altogether.  And it was only after they paid for the place that they realized the actual wine made there was TERRIBLE.  But they turned things around by working at it until they were able to produce “excellent wine.” Well, the Duke is no longer with us.  But his family is defending his honor.  His son issued a statement accusing Sting of “false, poisonous slander.” He said his father would never pull a trick like that, and since he lived until 2012, Sting had plenty of time to bring this up while he was alive to defend himself. Instead, he says that Sting did it, “a babbo morto” . . . which is a Tuscan expression that means, “when the father has died.”
